How to get Power Rods in ARC Raiders

One of the rarest items to find.

Power Rods are one of the most elusive items in ARC Raiders, and finding one can be a challenging task.

You’ll need it for crafting and repairs, so it’s pretty valuable. However, it’s also essential to complete the Tribute to Toledo quest. This guide will help you with the best possible locations, and also mention other ways in which you can grab the item.

Best Arc Raiders Power Rods location

Power Rods can drop randomly on any map in areas marked as electrical. The rate of spawn appears to be very low. I personally got just three so far (having started playing at launch). Incidentally, all three Power Rods I have found have been from the same place.

I have marked the location of the Power Generator Complex on the Dam Battlegrounds, at the top of the map. You’ll find plenty of electronic equipment to loot here. Move to the left part of the building, and you’ll find massive generators that you can breach and loot. Power Rods appear to spawn randomly in these generators.

Once again, getting a Power Rod is completely random (if you’re trying to loot it from Topside). If you have looked carefully and have yet to get one, you’ll need to try again on the next map rotation.

There are alternative ways of obtaining a Power Rod.

  • Completing the Lost in Transmission quest gives you a Snap Hook. Recycling this legendary-tier item will give you a Power Rod. You can also gain Snap Hooks from looting the Harvester after defeating a Queen.
  • You can craft a Power Rod using two Advanced Electrical Components and two ARC Circuitry. You’ll also need Refiner 3 to complete the upgrades.

How to use Power Rod in ARC Raiders

Here are all the known uses of Power Rod in ARC Raiders.

  • 1x Power Rod + 1x Voltage Converter gives you a Heavy Shield (near Gear Bench 3)
  • 1x Power Rod and 1x Exodus Modules are required to repair a Snap Hook
  • Power Rod can be recycled into Advanced Electrical Components and ARC Circuitry
  • Power Rod can be salvaged into Advanced Electrical Components
