Certain challenges in multiplayer require specific kinds of medals or kills, such as Long Shot medals, when it comes to a number of weapons and their Special camo unlocks. This can be daunting or confusing, but it’s a simple task when you know how to go about getting them done.

Traditionally in CoD, Long Shot medals require kills at long range, but the distance varies depending on the type of weapon. For example, shotguns have the shortest distance requirement, while sniper rifles have the longest.

For Black Ops 7, in total, there are four weapons that require Long Shot medals for BO7 multiplayer camo challenges: the M8A1 and M34 Novaline marksman rifles, and the Shadow SK and XR-3 Ion sniper rifles.

Sniper rifle Long Shots are kills at 50 meters or longer, while marksman rifle Long Shots require kills at 38 meters or longer. Below you can find the list of each weapon class and their Long Shot requirements:

  • Shotguns: 12.5 meters
  • Pistols: 20 meters
  • Submachine guns: 30 meters
  • Assault rifles: 38 meters
  • Light machine guns: 38 meters
  • Marksman rifles: 38 meters
  • Sniper rifles: 50 meters

To get Long Shot kills, queue up in multiplayer games and maps that have long sightlines. Many of BO7’s maps are small, three-lane affairs, but if you’re patient and a little lucky, you can find a long vantage point to shoot enemies from afar.

Some of the bigger maps in BO7 can be found in certain playlists, like the Skirmish 20-vs-20 mode, but be forewarned that this new mode includes armor, so enemies will need more damage to take down, making it a bit inconsistent for Long Shots.

An easy way to get Long Shots is to play in Hardcore playlists, where enemies are weaker and can be taken down in a shot or two. This definitely makes things less of a hassle and a bit more consistent as opposed to having enemies survive before you can finish them.
