It’s time to expand your factory into the stars with the release of the Factorio: Space Age expansion. Even though the expansion adds a ton of new content, it does break most of the existing mods that have been developed over the years. Thankfully, we’ve found a few ways how to get Infinite Resources in Factorio Space Age if you prefer to play without such a setting.
How to get Infinite Resources via Mods
The easiest way to truly get Infinite Resources in Factorio: Space Age is through the use of mods. While most of the previous mods for vanilla Factorio no longer work, there are a few new ones that have been released that already work with the Factorio Space Age expansion, including some that add Infinite Resources. More specifically, here are the three mods that currently work with the Factorio 2.0 update that will enable infinite resources:
- Infinite Resources REUPLOADED by Cigaro_
- Infinite Resources by johnwest
- Infinite Refill on Limited Resources by guy-732
The first two make the ore deposits infinite and will make oil yields always remain at their originally shown rate. The third mod provides infinite resources by automatically refilling depleted resource nodes.
To install and activate the mod of your choosing, simply launch Factorio Space Age then click the Mods button, then the Explore tab, and then click the magnifying glass in the top right. Search for the mod you want to install then click it, click install, and then the green Confirm button in the bottom right. This will reload Factorio Space Age with the installed mod and you will now have infinite resources!
Alternative Options for Infinite Resources Without Mods
If you’re not interested in installing mods to get Infinite Resources, there are some ways to get access to Infinite Resources or close to it in the base game. The first is to simply increase the resources amounts when starting a new game. When you create a new game file, the first tab is labeled Resources which will show you each resource with a Frequency, Size, and Richness tab. Each of these options increase how much resources you will have access to on each of the selected planets that you move the sliders on.
The frequency will increase how often that specific resource will spawn an ore vein patch. The size increases how big height and width-wise each of those patches are with they spawn. The third and final tab increases the Richness, or volume, of each of the resource node patches. If you increase all three of these to the max, you’ll have plenty of resources all around the map. Not quite infinite, but close to it.
Another option for infinite resources is to simply progress to the point in Factorio Space Age where you can start building your own space platforms. These space platforms can break up and collect asteroids, then break them down into base materials. This essentially becomes an infinite avenue for obtaining resources as the asteroids will continually spawn. Not quite as easy to plan for as on-planet resources, but it is still an option!
