How to Get Early Access to Dokkodo [Public Playtest]

Find out how to get into Dokkodo early!

If you ever wanted to go on a journey as a lonely samurai in war-torn Japan of the Sengoku era, then Dokkodo is precisely that. Although it is a unique RPG in the Roblox space, the combat in it is clearly inspired by Sekiro, which is widely regarded as one of the best FromSoftware games to date. Now, if you want to try it out before its public release, then follow our guide on how to get early access to Dokkodo below.

Ways to Get Early Access to Dokkodo

As of writing this guide, there are four ways to get into Dokkado early access: public playtests, EA donation, giveaways, events, and getting the Samurai role from Shogun kirse (Owner of Dokkado). Early access differs from wave access in Dokkodo. Early access is permanent, while wave access unlocks the game for you during a specific time period. Now, let’s go a bit deeper into each of the above methods.

Public Playtests

Since the game has been in development for some time, it is almost ready for release. However, the developers might decide to open it temporarily to get more feedback from the community. One such public playtest is scheduled for Friday, August 22nd, 2025, at 4:00 PM (UTC). The developers haven’t mentioned how long the playtest will last. However, we expect the game to remain open over the weekend. If you miss the first one, there might be more public playtests in the future.

Early Access Donation

A guaranteed way to get early access to Dokkodo is to purchase the Early Access Donation classic t-shirt (499 Robux) on the Roblox marketplace. After you’ve purchased it, create a ticket in the #support-ticket channel on the official Dokkodo Discord server and send the staff a screenshot of your purchase. The moderators should then grant you the @Samurai role on the server, which gives you access to the game on Roblox. Buying the EA to Dokkodo using Robux should be your last resort, in case you’re unable to obtain it through giveaways or other means.

Giveaways and Events

On the Dokkodo Discord server, developers frequently host giveaways and events through which you can get early and wave access to Dokkodo for free. To stay up-to-date with EA events, be sure to enable notifications for the #giveaways and #announcements channels. Keep in mind that giveaways and events often have some requirements you need to meet before getting EA, such as inviting people to the Discord server.

Getting the Samurai Role from Shogun Kirse

If Shogun krise, the owner of Dokkodo, noticed you for whatever reason, then they might grant you the early access role on the Discord server for free. However, this doesn’t happen often, and trying to DM them or the server moderators won’t be effective. Instead, try to interact with the community and consider creating content for it. Hopefully, the developers will take notice of your efforts and give you the @Samurai role.

Dokkodo Playtest Trailer

In the video above, you can see a small glimpse of what to expect during the first Dokkodo public playtest. The combat looks challenging, which means that mastering it will feel that much more satisfying. Judging by the trailer, Dokkodo appears to be an excellent RPG in the making that takes a step away from the numerous anime-inspired RPGs released recently, such as Wagarashi and Heian.

That concludes our guide on how to get early access to Dokkodo. Let us know in the comment section below if you managed to get EA to it and how. Good luck with getting into Dokkodo early. For more guides, check out the Roblox section here on Destructoid.

Whether it's climbing to Challenger in League of Legends or losing sleep over games like Hearts of Iron IV and Europa Universalis IV, he's always trying to min-max in everything he plays. On Roblox, he puts that same mindset into games like Anime Adventures, Anime Rangers X, and Anime Card Clash by diving deep into the mechanics to figure out what actually works. When he's not grinding games, he's probably watching anime or messing around on his electric guitar, trying (and occasionally failing) to nail anime openings and 90's Japanese rock'n' roll.
