How to get double XP and money in Phasmophobia anniversary event

Level up in no time.

Phasmophobia’s first double XP and money event has arrived, and if you’ve been struggling to level up, it’s the perfect opportunity to quickly unlock new gear and ascend to higher ranks. Since this is the first time it’s happened, though, you may need some help getting these rewards.

Double the rewards for completing contracts isn’t a prize you want to miss out on, especially since most of the best gear is locked behind higher levels. It’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss, so if you’re confused about how to activate this special modifier, here’s how to get double XP and money in Phasmophobia’s anniversary event.

Double XP and cash are granted automatically at the end of every contract you complete for the duration of the fifth anniversary celebration event. On the Debriefing page that pops up after leaving every contract, you’ll find the “Anniversary Event” section at the very bottom.

This section is what grants you double XP and cash at the end of every match. It has an x2 multiplier on it, so whatever you make for guessing the right ghost, capturing unique evidence, recording audio and video evidence, and otherwise completing key contract tasks is doubled.

All you need to do to get this bonus is complete any contract while the anniversary event is live. There’s no limit to it either, so you can obtain double XP and cash as often as you like before the event ends.

As long as you make more than zero dollars and XP, your prizes will be doubled. The only time you won’t make this is when you create a custom match with certain modifiers, like friendly ghost, turned on, so make sure your base multiplier is greater than zero. If it’s not, you won’t get this useful bonus.

Double XP and cash greyed out in Phasmophobia

The double XP and cash bonus is a bit buggy in Phasmophobia and sometimes appears greyed out at the end of a round. You don’t need to worry about this, though, as the rewards are still granted even if this option appears visually glitched.

I had this happen several times, but upon doing the math, I realized it was still doubling my prizes even if it didn’t look like it. It’s purely a visual issue that happens sometimes and doesn’t actually affect your total earnings.

If you’re looking for some extra tasks to get done, while you can earn double XP and cash for doing so, there are plenty of special quests to choose from. You might work on the featured weekly challenge, unlocking all hidden achievements, finding Slenderman, and using the Sound Recorder.
