Windrose is an upcoming survival crafting game set during the Golden Age of Piracy, i.e., sometime around the 1700s. It’s similar to titles like Valheim and V Rising, with you being tasked with surviving, building up, and exploring the high seas in pursuit of treasures and mysteries stranger still.

It’s a fun experience through and through, and its extensive demo only makes me yearn for more every time I fire it up. Speaking of the demo, it gives a taste of Windrose‘s comprehensive experience, with various resources, quests, and assignments to be completed and progressed through.

One resource that is particularly hard to get for players is Clay, found sparsely in only a few locations on the island.

On the demo island, Clay can usually be found in locations where the beach and the jungle meet. Your best bet, then, would be to walk along the coast around the island, keeping to the very edge of the jungle foliage. Clay appears as a rock formation of sorts, strikingly sticking out of the ground.

Clay has to be mined using a stone pickaxe, which you can craft in the basic workbench you first start the game with. Several deposits exist along the coast, so it should be rather easy to spot and mine them thoroughly if you just circle the island once or twice.

One is guaranteed to spawn just behind the first Ancient Ruins site you come across, located some paces west of the island’s starting point. More are to be found near the Copper Caves you’ll be tasked with exploring later on, one of which is directly north of the starting point.
