The Praxic Blade is Destiny 2‘s take on the lightsaber, bringing a perfect blend of Star Wars and Bungie’s franchise. And, like other Exotic weapons, the Renegades sensation also has multiple ways to upgrade it.
Some mods are obtained through Syndicates, while Dark Matter Crystals let you change the color of your blade. And, more importantly, this weapon also has four catalysts to obtain. Three are hidden in the Fire and Ice mission, while one is locked behind the Equilibrium dungeon. Here’s how to get them.

All Praxic Blade catalysts in Destiny 2 and how to get them

Three of the Praxic Blade’s catalysts are hidden in the Fire and Ice mission. Echoing Blade lets your Praxic Blade hit more targets, Upper Hand increases the damage of the lightsaber’s sword throw and reflected bolts if you’re on higher ground than the target, and Hyperblade makes you Amplified after reflecting shots. It also grants you a one-time Eager Edge edge effect after blocking, which is useful for tactical retreats.
The Energy Conduit catalyst grants health regeneration based on how many enemies you hit with your sword throw, though it’s hidden in the Equilibrium dungeon.
How to get all Praxic Blade catalysts in Destiny 2
The best order to grab those catalysts in the Fire and Ice mission is:
- Kill the two Taken Knights in the regular plane
- Get the seven oddities throughout the mission
- Once you reach the first balance encounter, mess it up on purpose to spawn the Catalyst of Imbalance
- After the level switches to the upside-down version, don’t go into the portal. Backtrack and destroy the two Blights from the dead Taken Knights.
- Balance the two white Blights before taking down the Disciple of Harrow.
We’ll break down their individual locations below, based on findings from content creators Skarrow9 and Esoterickk.
Upper Hand Catalyst (part one)

As soon as you begin the mission, look for two Taken enemies called Imbalance Warden near the Firebase Imperator. One will be to the right of the entrance, while the other is in a small hallway to the left of the base’s doorway. Kill them, remember their locations, and move on with the mission as normal until you flip between dimensions, after the Balance the Scales objective. The next step is finding seven oddities for the Echoing Blade catalyst.
Echoing Blade Catalyst
The Echoing Blade Catalyst requires you to throw your Praxic Blade at seven small Blights scattered around the mission, similar to what you did after obtaining the weapon in your first clear. Destroying any of them will say “X out of seven oddities destroyed” above your Super bar.
First Oddity

After grabbing the Imbalanced Octant and shooting the four Darkness artifacts, jump into the pit below and look for a small, glowing ledge. It’s on your right if you stand on the edge before jumping. From there, head to the glowing ledge across from you and follow the path until you reach an area with bars below you. Reach an ice block with a crate of special ammo and look for a closed-off, disappearing wall. Run to the end of the walkway in front of you and come back just in time to dissolve the wall and show a Blight on the other side. Throw your Praxic Blade at it and, if it lands, the message “one out of seven oddities” should appear.
Second Oddity

From the first oddity, drop down into an icy ledge below. Instead of crouching below the downed pillar and continuing with the mission, backtrack slightly until you see some icy steps. Look to the right to spot a door with a symbol. Dissolve it, then head inside to see a Blight. Climb up on the tiny ledge behind you and crouch to go through a hole in the wall, then take the path on the right to destroy the Blight. Walk out through the dissolving wall nearby.
Third Oddity

When you get to the jumping puzzle where you must crawl through obstacles on two levels, get to the second story and look for the big building behind an icy rock. There are a few secret ledges on the other side, which are hard to spot even from the glacier. Follow the path, keep climbing up, and you’ll find the third Blight, just in sight of the next area in the mission. We had to really crank up the brightness on the screenshot so it’s somewhat visible, so turn up your brightness in-game to find this one more easily.
Fourth Oddity

Reach the room with a tightrope-esque metal beam and a series of blocks that try to hit you. Climb to the top and, before you exit, look around the tiny rooms for a Blight in the distance. Turn around and look for a minuscule entrance in the wall. The most consistent way of getting in is climbing on the ledge closer to the Blight and Eager Edge-ing through the gap. Dissolve the double walls and quickly throw your Praxic Blade to hit this one.
Fifth Oddity

Continue along the mission until you platform to a narrow, crouch-only path below a beam. At one point, you can jump to the left or the right side. Take the right, then climb up to another beam up top. Follow it, and once you reach the first diamond-shaped part of the floor, look up and dissolve the ceiling above you. Line up your lightsaber and destroy the Blight through the wall.
Sixth Oddity
Just after the fifth oddity, when you reach the next open area with dissolving platforms, take the Hobgoblins sniping you, then keep going until you reach a floating glacier with another Hobgoblin shooting at you. Three small ledges will be below you and to your left, so drop down and destroy the Blight with a ricochet by aiming at the X on the nearby wall. You can also hit this from the glacier in front of you, if you drop down below where the Phalanx spawns.
Seventh Oddity

Backtrack to the entrance to this section and climb up on the rocks above the wall. Once you reach a block with stairs leading nowhere, look across the chasm to find a structure with this Blight inside it. Keep going up until you reach it. Look above the X to find a hole in the metal, then get as close as you can and throw your Praxic Blade inside. It might take a few tries, but you should land the sweet spot and destroy the final Blight.
Hyperblade Catalyst

In the “Balance the scales” encounter, overcharge each of the four Blights to get them out of balance. Do this by throwing three of the matching energy type on them. Failing summons an enemy called. Each time you do this, one small Blight spawns on each of the edges of the device in the center of the map. Destroy all four of them to summon the Warden of Imbalance, a big Taken Ogre. Take it down and complete the mission to snag the Hyperblade Catalyst for your Praxic Blade.
Upper Hand Catalyst (part two)

Stop immediately after using the Balanced Octant and flipping realities (Stranger Things, anyone?). Instead of going through the portal, backtrack to where you killed the two Taken Knights in the mission. There will be a Blight in each spot. Destroy them with a Praxic Blade throw. Fittingly enough, if you leave the Firebase Imperator through the main entrance, one Blight will be on your right and another to your left. Perfectly balanced.

After doing this, two white Blights will spawn in the Disciple of Harrow fight, under the boss’s arena. Charge them up by throwing Paired Energy at them, obtained by killing the same enemy type twice in a row, and roughly alternate between the two Blights. Then, complete the encounter as normal, and you’ll grab this prize from a small lockbox at the end of the mission.
Energy Conduit

The Energy Conduit catalyst drops from the Equilibrium dungeon. We’ll update this article once it’s available.
