How to get a Tent Kit in Stardew Valley 1.6

Be at one with nature, for one night only

We’ve all been there in Stardew Valley: you’ve ventured a little too far from home and lost track of time, the clock is ticking dangerously close to 2AM and you’re on the verge of passing out and having Linus rummage through your pockets. To prevent this, use a Tent Kit.

The Tent Kit is a new, single-use item that was added with the 1.6 update of Stardew Valley. It works a little like a Campfire, meaning you can craft one and put it down wherever you like and sleep there overnight.

While I wouldn’t advise setting out on any long expeditions any time soon, Tent Kits are useful in a pinch so it’s a good idea to always keep one in your inventory, or otherwise carry the materials to craft one if you need it.

The first way to get a Tent Kit is by venturing to Ginger Island and visiting the Jungle on the Eastern side of the map. Here, you’ll find a package containing not one but three Tent Kits.

Otherwise, you’ll need to craft one if you’re in need. The recipe for a Tent Kit unlocks once you reach Foraging level 8, so if you’ve just started a new game in honor of 1.6, you have a while to wait.

To craft a Tent Kit, you’ll need:

  • 10 Hardwood
  • 25 Fiber
  • 1 Cloth

Once you’ve crafted one, you can place a Tent Kit anywhere you like, sleep in it, and then in the morning it will disappear, never to be seen (or used) again.
