Highguard is attracting plenty of eyes on opening night, but players have run into a major problem with the error code Cormorant.
The error code seems to be related to the current server issues. Many players are already stuck in the login queue, which has been put in place to reduce the server load. However, several players like me appear to be getting an online error message pop-up on their screen.
This guide will quickly explain everything you need to know and how to potentially fix the problem.
Highguard online error code Cormorant explained
Error code Cormorant gets triggered if you can’t connect to the servers. Highguard requires a persistent internet connection. If the connectivity gets disrupted, you’ll be kicked out of the servers. Alternatively, you will end up seeing the online error code as shown in the image below.

So what can you do to fix the issue? Ideally, you would want to ensure that your internet connection is working as intended. Make sure that nothing is eating your bandwidth to the extent that it’s causing a rift. However, the problems related to online errors on launchday has got more to do with the traffic.
There have already been login queues put in place to reduce the server load. However, plenty of players have already flocked in (based on the Steam numbers alone), and then there’s the console population. I believe we are seeing Cormorant as a byproduct of the overloaded servers.
The problem at hand should cease pretty soon as the developers work on reducing online errors. However, there are chances for you to encounter it in the future. If this happens and your internet is working, the servers might be undergoing maintenance.
