However, depending on when you log into the game, you’ll notice two mysterious critters who are particularly tricky to track down: the Teal Baby Dragon and Black Pegasus. How do you find them? What’s their favorite meal? Let’s dive into how to find Teal Baby Dragons and Black Pegasus in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

The Teal Baby Dragon can be found wandering around The Wild Woods biome. This region is part of Everafter, the large area that covers most of the left side of The Storybook Vale. This critter isn’t always there, though, as it has a specific schedule.

The Blue Baby Dragon also calls the same region home and looks extremely similar to the Teal Baby Dragon. It’s quite easy to mix up these two based on their overall color, but the Teal Baby Dragon has bright orange eyes, so look for those to make sure you interact with the right one.

Like all other Baby Dragons, the teal variant of this critter enjoys a collection of rare Gems as its favorite meal. Specifically, Pure Ice and Magma, as well as the Shiny Pure Ice and Shiny Magma versions. This Companion also likes all Gems and will be decently happy when fed any, but only absolutely loves Pure Ice and Magma.

Teal Baby Dragon hangout bonus in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Teal Baby Dragon is the most unique version of this critter you can befriend, as its Companion hangout ability is picking up Ores while you mine. All other Baby Dragons have the pick up Snippets bonus, so it’s a bit odd that this one is different.

It could be a mistake that’s changed in future updates, so if it is, we’ll update the information here. For now, though, this critter is a superb ally to have at your side while mining around the valley.

You can find the Black Pegasus wandering around The Elysian Fields region of Mythopia. This is one of the locations within the larger region near the right end of The Storybook Vale. The Pink Pegasus also wanders around this area, often at the same time, so make sure you check the color of the Pegasus you’re interacting with before feeding them if you’re focused on unlocking this one.

Black Pegasus favorite food in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The elusive Black Pegasus is a very fancy critter who loves four-star Vegetable meals and five-star Vegetable meals. Any dish that has at least one Vegetable in it and is four stars or better works to fulfill these requirements. This critter also likes three-star Vegetable meals, but not quite as much.

The Black Pegasus has the same hangout bonus as all other Pegasus, which is the ability to pick up Snippets when hanging out. This skill is primarily only useful when exploring The Storybook Vale, as most Snippets are exclusive to this area.

The only exception to this is the rare White Bird Snippets found back in regular Dreamlight Valley. Regardless of which Snippets you’re hunting for, it’s always a great idea to have a Snippet companion at your side.

After you’re done befriending these adorable and helpful critters, you might consider working on some important quests around the valley. Some good ones to get done are Spirit Hunters, The Circle of Friendship, Create a Bear, and The Fortress of Saditude.
