How to find the Death Star Easter egg in Fortnite

Not so far, far away anymore.

Fortnite Chapter Six, season three is officially Star Wars themed, and there’s not long to go before the epic adventure begins. This season is called Galactic Battle, and although we aren’t there just yet, there’s already a massive teaser for it on the island: the Death Star.

It’s always fun to catch Easter eggs when you can, since they’re generally only around for a short time, and they give some fun insight into what you can expect to see on the island next. If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of this one, here’s how to find the Death Star Easter egg in Fortnite.

Where is the Star Wars Death Star in Fortnite?

The Death Star Easter egg can be occasionally spotted in the sky over the island in Fortnite. Unless you manage to get a weapon with an enhanced scope, it’s generally pretty tough to see as it appears as a very small dot you can barely see.

If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of it, be sure to look up fairly early on in the round. It eventually gets hidden by the storm clouds as the round progresses, so it’s generally only visible near the start of each match.

You also might want to travel to a high location around the island to make finding it easier. The snowy peaks scattered around the island work well for this, as do other locations that are fairly high up, like Shogun’s Solitude. It can be spotted from anywhere where you have a good view of the sky, it’s just a bit easier to find if you’re up high.

What does the Death Star do in Fortnite?

The Death Star doesn’t have any actual gameplay functionalities and exists solely as a fun teaser for Chapter Six, season three. It’s similar to the Sabrina Carpenter Easter egg in that it’s there solely to hint at what’s coming next. It’s a big part of the trailer for the Galactic Battle season, so it’ll likely be more important when this theme takes over.

This Easter egg is expected to get closer to the island and grow in size over time as the next season gets closer. It’s quite prominent in the trailer, and Fortnite has a history of bringing teasers closer in preparation for new seasons. Once it’s closer, it will also likely stay floating in the sky for most or all of the Galactic Battle season.

Can you visit the Death Star in Fortnite?

You can’t travel to the Death Star to visit and explore this location in Fortnite. It’s possible this could change with the launch of Chapter Six, season three, but it seems fairly unlikely since it’s a massive location that will always be stuck floating in the sky.

It’s not really a feasible location that could become a POI due to its massive scale, but there are sure to be plenty of other iconic Star Wars locations you can visit. Some of the ones we’ve seen so far include the Millennium Falcon and an AT-AT-themed restaurant called eAT-eAT.

While you wait for the Star Wars season to arrive, there’s plenty to keep you busy around the island. You might work on jamming alone using all instruments at once, unlocking all TMNT skins, searching a jewelry case, and spending bars on an Outlaw Flusher.
