The open-world RPG, true to the studio’s form, features galactic spelunking, exploration, FPS combat, and an engaging story quest that sees you tracking down someone who betrayed you very early on. That’s where the main quest line takes you in the early hours of the game.

If you’ve gotten stuck on the final objective of one of Outer Worlds 2’s main quests, The Saboteur of Paradise, we’ve got you covered.

How to find de Vries’ Safe Room in Outer Worlds 2

Finding de Vries’ safe room is one of the main objectives in Outer Worlds 2’s early story quest, The Saboteur of Paradise. Once you’ve made it to the Vox Relay above Paradise, follow your objective markers to sneak around the facility, avoiding combat as much as possible (or killing everyone, the choice is yours).

Following the markers and interacting with the terminals and consoles will eventually allow you to combine items to gain access to the main command floor area, where you saw that goon Brigadier Montelli execute one of his men when you first arrived.

The mission culminates in a boss fight against the heavily armored Montelli, who is no joke in the early goings of the game. I defeated him by sitting back behind cover, firing at him from afar with a Repeater Rifle, and lobbing Bio-Grenades at his feet until his HP was empty. Make sure to use Niles’ and VALERIE’s abilities to keep you safe, heal when you need to, and loot Montelli’s body for the awesome Chainspark Cannon weapon.

Once he’s dead, you can move on to the next area and interact with a console, using the Root Kit you created to open up her safe room. This can be tricky to find because there’s no marker or any real indicator of where it is. Turn around, and the door will be off to your right, marked by a red light, holding a locker with loot and de Vries’ private terminal to interact with.

A cutscene will begin, featuring a voice log from de Vries, and this will trigger another scene and your exit, so enjoy the exposition.

After this, the quest will complete, and your journey in Outer Worlds 2 will continue from there.
