All maps you can explore are quite vast and detailed, even the smaller ones, which can make finding these boxes rather tricky. It’s much easier once you know where to look and how they work, though, so here’s how to find and open Winter’s Jest Krampus boxes in Phasmophobia.

Krampus jack-in-the-boxes can be found just about anywhere around all active Winter’s Jest event maps in Phasmophobia. All of the maps that may have Krampus boxes are as follows.

Each day, Krampus boxes will only spawn at four of these locations. You can tell which ones have them by checking the map board for all areas marked with a festive present icon. The event maps are on a daily rotation schedule, as are the Krampus boxes, so the exact areas you can visit to find them vary.

Around each map, you can spot Krampus boxes on the ground, tables, chairs, beds, and just about everywhere else. They don’t have fixed spawn spots or specific types of areas where they spawn. Instead, you might see one anywhere you look on any map.

Before you open them, Krampus boxes appear as dark red, simple boxes with a star on them that is a slightly lighter shade of red. All locations are quite dark, which means they blend in fairly well even when you know what you’re looking for. Be sure to scan all areas carefully to avoid missing them.

How to open Krampus boxes in Phasmophobia

You can open Krampus boxes by simply approaching them and selecting the Interact button while looking at them. This is the same button you use to perform most actions while ghost hunting.

On PC, it’s left click by default, but it varies by platform or may have been changed if you switched your controls around. You can check when it is for you by opening the Journal, selecting Settings, switching over to the Controls tab, and locating the button next to the Interact option. If you want to change it, you can also do that from this page.

Krampus boxes are essentially jack-in-the-boxes that pop open sometime after you interact with them, so be prepared for a bit of a jump scare when you do so. Opening these boxes scores you event points, thus helping both you and the entire Phasmophobia community get closer to unlocking event prizes.

Interacting with these boxes is just one of the many ways you can contribute to the event’s progress. If you’re looking for additional methods to try, you may want to work on helping with the Naughty-or-Nice List next.
