There are a few different bosses lurking around the island in Fortnite Chapter Seven, season two. These formidable foes drop some of the best loot you can get. The Ice King is one of the tougher bosses you can face this season.
Like most bosses, the Ice King is a tricky guy to track down and face in battle. The items you get for besting him are well worth the effort, though, so here’s how to find and defeat the Ice King in Fortnite.

Ice King location in Fortnite
The Ice King can be found at the Frigid Fortress POI near the north end of the island in Fortnite. He hangs around the front courtyard area in between the fortress entrance and the main palace area, close to a massive statue of himself.
Boss spawn location patterns change each season, but this time around, they seem to be fixed, which makes finding them a lot easier. If any changes to this system occur as the season progresses, though, we’ll update all key details here.
How to beat the Ice King in Fortnite
While most hostile NPCs and bosses are fairly easy to best in battle, the Ice King is one of the more dangerous ones I’ve encountered over the seasons. He’s got some really strong gauntlets that dish out impactful ice damage that’s tough to dodge. He can also summon a dangerous icy storm that swirls around you.
The Ice King also isn’t alone, as his loyal companion Lady Windfrost follows him wherever he goes. This means you’re basically fighting two hostile characters at once, so you’ll need to be prepared for a fairly tough fight.
To beat the Ice King in battle, try to focus on dealing damage against him, since Lady Windfrost will perish automatically when you do manage to take him out. You’ll also want to have full health and shields before you face him, as well as a solid rotation of guns you can cycle through.
Once you have a solid supply of loot, fire at the Ice King with everything you’ve got. Rapid weapons like pistols and SMGs are especially useful here, as it’s easy to knock his shield and health bars quickly with them. When he starts to float or charge up his gauntlets, do your best to evade the attack. Consider running away or hiding behind structures briefly to ensure you’re not hit.
All Ice King boss loot in Fortnite
As of the time of writing, the Ice King’s boss loot isn’t all that great, but is expected to be updated in future updates. For now, though, he only drops a Self-Revive Device, some gold bars, and ammo. Lady Windfrost drops a weapon and some healing or shielding items, too, so be sure to loot the spot where she perished as well. As key seasonal goals are met, the loot pool will be expanded upon, and he’ll likely eventually drop Mythic Ice King’s Gauntlets, too, since this is what he uses in battle.
