The Dark Voyager was a key antagonistic figure in Chapter Seven, season one, and he’s still looming over the island in season two. This time, there’s a Dark Voyager Echo boss you can take on to earn some special loot.
All bosses are fairly tricky to find around the island since it’s quite vast, and they’re not marked on the overall map. Of the bosses you can find and fight, Dark Voyager Echo is one of the easier ones to track down once you know where to look. Here’s how to find and defeat Dark Voyager Echo in Fortnite.

Dark Voyager Echo location in Fortnite
The Dark Voyager Echo boss is most commonly found at Dark Dominion on the Chapter Seven, season two map. In the vast majority of rounds you load into, this POI is where you’ll find him. He seems to be able to spawn at some other boss locations, too, like south of Battlewood Boulevard, but it’s not very common.
We’ve only found him elsewhere one time, so for the best chances of finding him, stick to searching Dark Dominion. As we continue to play, we’ll also add any other spawn spots we encounter him at here.
The Dark Voyager Echo boss will be marked with a skull wearing a crown icon on your mini map once you’re in his general vicinity. This icon cannot be seen from the main map, which means the only way to know if he’s present is to travel to a POI to check for him.
How to beat Dark Voyager Echo in Fortnite
The Dark Voyager Echo boss is one of the toughest foes you can take on this season. Don’t face him unless you have full health, shields, and at least a few weapons to alternate between, as you likely won’t succeed otherwise.
Similar to the Ice King, the Dark Voyager Echo boss isn’t alone in battle. He summons three drones around the nearby area, all of which charge up deadly laser attacks. Do your best to dodge these strikes, as they can quickly deplete your shield and health bars if you’re not careful. You can shoot at them to break the drones, but it’s generally best to just ignore them and instead focus your fire on the Dark Voyager Echo.
The Dark Voyager Echo boss uses a shotgun in battle, which means he’s not great at far-away combat. Use this to your advantage by keeping a healthy distance between you and him, striking from far away with deadly, precise shots using an assault rifle or similar weapon.
To beat this boss, focus on dodging the drone attacks, evading hits from his heavy shotgun, and dealing damage from a safe distance away. Like most bosses, his aim isn’t great, so as long as you play it safe and understand what you’re getting into, you shouldn’t have too tough a time with this one.
All Dark Voyager Echo boss loot in Fortnite
Upon besting this foe in battle, the Dark Voyager Echo boss drops a Legendary Chaos Reloader Shotgun. He also drops some gold bars, shield potions, and ammo. The shotgun is the real prize here, though.
With this boss battle out of the way, you can move on to other key missions around the island. Next, you might work on collecting all Chaos Cubes, using the Jam Track Player, visiting all NPC locations, and opening the New Sanctuary Vault.
