How to find Adhesive in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Don't let it stick to your hands.

In many survival games, adhesive is a rare and valuable resource you’ll constantly make to fuel your building and crafting needs. RuneScape Dragonwilds is no exception, with adhesive paving the way to useful equipment upgrades as you branch out into the world.

How to make Adhesive in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Making adhesive in RuneScape Dragonwilds requires getting your hands on Swamp Tar from the Whispering Swamp. You can use this tar inside a Kiln to make one adhesive at a time, making it very easy to mass-produce this resource if you make a few swamp trips.

As you approach the swamp, you’ll find a foggy region with resources like Buttercap Mushrooms, Marrentill, and clay sprawled about. You’ll spot Swamp Tar in clumps near the water’s edges, making it very easy to collect them in batches once you find your initial few. There’s no shortage of this tar within the swamp, so don’t worry about this being a rare or non-renewable resource. Pick up some clay along the way; you’ll need this for the Kiln later.

How to make a Kiln in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Once you collect some Swamp Tar from Whispering Swamp, you’ll need to toss it into a Kiln with some fuel. Here are the resources you need to build a Kiln:

  • Ash Log (8)
  • Stone (20)
  • Clay (6)
  • Fire Rune (10)

By now, you’ll be familiar with Ash logs and stone, as they’re available all over Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley. Building a Lodestone or two will make traveling between these regions easier, but you’re not required to make them if you’re fine with running on foot.

Clay appears as brown clumps in Whispering Swamp. Like stone, they spawn often in this area, but they may be difficult to spot in the area’s fog. Place down a few torches to make spotting the swamp’s resources easier.

Fire Runes are the most challenging resource on this list, requiring level 13 Runecrafting to make it at a Rune Altar. Alternatively, you can open goblin pouches for a chance to obtain Fire Runes, but they’re relatively uncommon compared to Air and Astral runes.

Once you have your Kiln built, toss your Swamp Tar and some fuel inside to make your adhesive. It’ll take a couple of seconds for it to process, and once it’s complete, it will appear on the floor.

How to use Adhesive in RuneScape Dragonwilds

One of the best uses for adhesive early on is making Hard Leather. Once you get your hands on regular leather from the Tannery, build a Tanner’s Kit improvement next to it to unlock Hard Leather. Use your leather and adhesive inside your upgraded Tannery to make some Hard Leather, letting you create better tools and armor for your RuneScape Dragonwilds character.
