There’s a handful of Animon in LumenTale: Memories of Trey with confusing evolution requirements. Their LMD entries say something vague—like “special,” as is the case with Kinedge—and you’ll have to find clues around Talea to help figure it out.

If you check the notice board in the Lumen Clubs, at some point in the story, you’ll see a small clue for evolving Kinedge into Ferroll, a spiky ball form of itself. Unfortunately, it isn’t much help; all it shows is Kinedge evolving into Ferroll with a series of text beneath it that’s almost impossible to read, as shown in the image below.

I’ve attempted to translate the graphic into its alphabetical counterpart, and I got: “mai nai visto cosa succede ad un kinedge quando e sovraccarico di elettricita statica?” If you translate it from Italian to English, you get something along the lines of “Have you ever seen what happens to a Kinedge when it’s overloaded with static electricity?” (Thanks, Google Translate!)

That doesn’t exactly tell us how to evolve Kinedge, but it does give us an additional clue. Kinedge has several moves that generate electricity, including Aftershock, an attack Kinedge learns at level 26. The description of the attack says the user charges itself with electricity, then “creates a cloak of sparks damaging any enemies that touch it.” A cloak of sparks that looks painful to the touch matches the description of what Ferroll looks like, so let’s give that a go.

How to evolve Kinedge

To evolve Kinedge into Ferroll in LumenTale, you have to use the attack Aftershock in battle. After using Aftershock five times in battle, I got a notification on the experience screen saying Kinedge was ready to evolve.

From there, all you need to do is click on Kinedge, choose “Evolve,” and sit back and watch as your adorable little spiky friend turns into a much larger, scarier spiky friend.
