Are you the type of BitLife player to finish weekly challenges, complete the game’s entire achievement list, and collect every ribbon? Although challenges usually aren’t too complex, ribbons are an entirely different beast to tackle, especially with how ambiguous some of them are.

How to collect ribbons in BitLife
In BitLife, you’ll collect ribbons every time you complete a character’s life. After your character passes, you’ll find a tombstone detailing their stats, accomplishments, and a brief anecdote from living family members or friends. On the corner of the tombstone is a ribbon that summarizes the type of life your character lived.

For example, if your character was incredibly wealthy and amassed tens of millions of dollars, you’ll get a gold Loaded ribbon to match their net worth. Similarly, if they frequently pickpocketed NPCs or burgled houses throughout their life, they’ll get the Thief ribbon instead. Every action you take will influence the ribbon you receive upon your character’s death.

Tip: Use Ctrl+F if you’re on a PC or your phone’s “Find on Page” feature to locate specific ribbons.
How to obtain every ribbon in BitLife
Academic
Obtaining BitLife’s Academic ribbon requires having high smarts, completing a university program, and pursuing either Graduate School, Medical School, or any other postgraduate program the game offers. Once you complete your postgraduate program, age up your character as usual without becoming famous, making a ton of money, or going to jail to get the Academic ribbon.
Addict
The most challenging part of getting the Addict ribbon is initially developing addictions. You have three options: drinking, gambling, and taking any form of drug. The easiest way to complete this is to have a lot of friends to increase your odds of getting a random pop-up asking you to take various substances. You can also go gambling a lot, but you’ll need to make sure you don’t make over $1,000,000 in net earnings. Develop at least two addictions and complete your life to earn this ribbon.
Barbie Girl
Your goal with the Barbie Girl ribbon is to undergo plastic surgery operations with a female character. You’ll need every single option aside from gender reassignment surgery. This also means making enough money to afford the surgeries, but not becoming a multi-millionaire and risking the Rich or Loaded ribbons.
Cat Lady
As the name suggests, your goal is to have a female character with at least 30 cats. The downside? Wthout Bitizenship, you can’t have more than three cats at a time, while those who do get to have more. If you’re a free-to-play player, your safest bet is to adopt older cats, wait for them to live out their lives, and then repeat the process until you’ve had at least 30. You also need high relationship stats with each one, so make sure you give yourself enough time to spend time with them.
Cunning
The Cunning ribbon can be a little tricky due to its similarities to others on this list. Your goal for this is to commit a crime, get sent to jail, and then escape. Afterwards, you’ll need gender reassignment surgery and, optionally, emigrating to another country so you don’t get sent back to prison and risk getting the Jailbird ribbon instead. As long as you don’t commit more crimes or perform other actions that can net you another ribbon, you should get this one fairly easily.
Deadly
The difficulty of the Deadly ribbon relies heavily on whether you’re skillful at eliminating NPCs in BitLife. If you have the Assassin’s Blade item, this’ll be a piece of cake. Otherwise, you’ll need to successfully kill five in-game characters without retaliation. It doesn’t matter if your character is caught, as they can escape prison and repeat the process until the playthrough ends.
Family Guy
The Family Guy ribbon has a few specific requirements. Below are some tips for getting this easily:
- Be born a male
- Have a wife and two to three children
- Have a stable income but don’t make too much money
- Spend time with your wife and children
- Be generous to your wife and children
- Don’t perform any risky, unusual actions that could net you other ribbons.
Generally speaking, as long as you have a family, don’t do anything extreme like committing crimes, and live as an overall average father, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting this ribbon. Have high relationship stats with your family, don’t make too much money, and only have a couple of children to avoid ribbons like Rich and Fertile.
Famous

The Famous ribbon can be either very easy or slightly difficult to obtain, depending on the premium items and expansion packs you own. If you own the Modeling, Movie Star, Acting, or Musician special career packs, you can easily become famous through any of these paths. Similarly, if you own the Hollywood Star, you can achieve fame the same year you apply for certain eligible jobs.
If you’re a free-to-play player, you can instead pursue the following careers for this ribbon:
- Chef
- Disk Jockey (DJ)
- Writer
- Magician
- Social Media influencer
- Reporter
- Mobile app developer
- Socialite (marry someone famous)
While not every job can make you famous, you’ve got a few options, depending on your character’s qualifications. After landing one of these positions, work hard every year until you become famous. As long as you maintain your fame until your run ends, you’ll secure this ribbon without much trouble. You can even make as much money as you want, as the Famous ribbon will outweigh net worth-related ones.
Fertile
Remember when I mentioned the Fertile ribbon earlier? This one is all about having numerous children. Although I’ve yet to test this with a male character, you can complete this one with a female by having at least four children or two to three children with a few grandkids. However, children aren’t guaranteed to give you grandchildren, so I’d opt for the four kids instead.
It doesn’t matter who you do the deed with as long as your character has children. You can be in a committed relationship, have one-time flings, or go through anonymous donations through the fertility menu. As long as you have four or more children throughout your character’s life and don’t meet the requirements of other ribbons like Rich, Thief, Cat Lady, or Addict, you should get this one without much trouble.
Generous
Speaking of family and friends, the Generous ribbon is all about giving back to those you love. The easiest way to do this is to give gifts to family and friends, including spouses and children, until the day your character passes. To make it even easier, you can avoid having kids and just give gifts to your character’s spouse. Although they don’t need to love every gift, you should still try to find options they like to boost your odds of getting this ribbon.
Geriatric

The Geriatric ribbon has only one requirement: live to 120 years old. This one is tricky since, in most cases, your character will live to around 100 before peacefully falling asleep and ending the run. Here are some tips to increase your odds:
- Being born female. They have higher life expectancy rates on average.
- Do not drink any alcohol or take any drugs.
- Cure every disease you catch.
- Have good relationships with family and friends to raise your Karma.
Overall, you want to be as healthy as possible so that you can live a long life. The fewer risks you take, the better. That also includes avoiding becoming famous, making a lot of money, or committing crimes so you don’t risk obtaining other ribbons.
Globetrotter

The Globetrotter ribbon is all about exploring the world. For this, you’ll want to go on vacations and cruises to as many different countries as possible. The more, the better. A safe bet is traveling to around 30 countries throughout your character’s life.
Since going on vacation is expensive, you’ll want to ensure your character earns enough money to afford holidays but not so much that they receive one of the net worth-related ribbons described later in this list. Maintain a stable income but avoid becoming famous or wealthy. Otherwise, as long as you travel the world as much as possible, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting this one.
Gold Digger
Are you familiar with BitLife’s Gold Digger challenge from 2020? During it, you need to marry multiple people and acquire millions of dollars through divorces or their passing away without ever landing a job yourself. The Gold Digger ribbon has the exact same requirements. You’re safe to make a few million, but be cautious as you approach the $ 10 million mark.
The easiest way to complete this is to use BitLife’s in-game dating app to find partners who are 80 years old or older and have a net worth of over $200,000. Although the method is morally grey, it’s by far the most effective way to get this particular ribbon.
Hero

The Hero ribbon is completely luck-based. Throughout a character’s life, there’s a chance you’ll encounter an event pop-up where you’ll have to save someone’s life. This can include the following:
- Saving someone who’s drowning
- Performing the Heimlich maneuver on a family member
- Calling the police when someone’s in danger
Alternatively, you can enter the military and pass away while deployed. Perform any action that saves another character’s life before aging up as usual to earn this ribbon.
Highroller
Highroller is another money-making ribbon you can obtain in BitLife. This time, you’ll need to make at least $1,000,000 from gambling at a casino or betting on horse races. As long as you make more than $1 million and less than $10 million, you’ll earn this ribbon once your character’s life concludes.
Houdini
The Houdini ribbon is very similar to Cunning in that you need to escape prison throughout your character’s life. However, unlike Cunning and related ribbons like Jailbird, Houdini requires escaping over ten times without spending more than a few years incarcerated.
Once you’re imprisoned, escape within the same year and repeat this until you’ve had ten successful attempts. Be sure to check out how to escape prison in BitLife if you’re unfamiliar with its minigame.
Influencer
The Influencer ribbon is one of the most challenging achievements in BitLife. To obtain this, you’ll need to end a playthrough with over 10,000,000 followers on every in-game social media platform. You can make this easier by becoming famous and using your fame to verify your accounts early on. Even then, it’ll still take most of your character’s life, requiring you to regularly great posts on any platform that’s struggling. Twitter is usually the most common culprit, so watch for that as you play.
Jailbird
Jailbird another crime-related ribbon that requires being in jail for multiple years. To complete this, have your BitLife character commit any crime before going to jail. From here, spend a few years in prison before escaping. Repeat this two or three times to raise your odds of getting this ribbon. Make sure not to get Gender Reassignment surgery or escape more than ten times, or else you’ll risk getting the Cunning and Houdini ribbons instead.
Lazy

The Lazy ribbon is one of the easiest to obtain on this list. To get it, continue hitting the Age Up button until your character passes away. Don’t get a job, become famous, or commit any crimes. Perform as few actions as possible before eventually ending your run and getting the Lazy ribbon.
Loaded
Getting the Loaded ribbon is either among the easiest or most challenging ribbons in this list, depending on what expansion packs you own. It requires you to end your playthrough with over $20,000,000 in net worth. Becoming famous or entering a royal family won’t work, as the Famous ribbon outweighs the Loaded one.
You have several methods for obtaining this one. The easiest way is to secure a high-paying job, such as being a brain surgeon or lawyer, and be careful with your spending. You can also start with a famous and wealthy character, then have their child inherit the money. From here, you can continue as the child and end their playthrough with a ton of money without having to become famous or work. Generally speaking, you can be creative with this as long as you have a net worth of $20,000,000 without becoming famous or getting involved in crime.
Lustful
Obtaining this one is relatively easy, as it requires having multiple lovers. While some can be long-term romantic partners, you’ll have an easy time having numerous one-night ones. You should average at least two encounters a year until your character passes, but having more will increase your odds further.
Make sure you don’t have too many children, or else you’ll risk getting the Fertile ribbon instead. You’ll also need to use protection and cure any STDs your character catches to avoid a specific ribbon I’ll be talking about later in this list.
Mediocre
The Mediocre ribbon is one step above Lazy and one below most other ribbons. Your goal is to be as average as possible, with minimal, albeit some, interactions throughout your character’s life. You can still land a job, but avoid making too much money so you don’t end up with the Successful, Rich, or Loaded ribbons. You also want to avoid going to jail to avoid any crime-related ribbons.
Overall, you want to be as average as possible with this ribbon. Don’t do anything noteworthy, but also don’t neglect spending time with friends and family or taking care of your character’s health. As long as you put a small amount of effort into playing, you should obtain this one pretty easily.
Monopoly
If you’re familiar with Monopoly games, you’ll already know where this is headed. To obtain this ribbon, you’ll need to buy, renovate, and flip houses repeatedly until you’ve made a few million in overall profit. There’s a chance Loaded may outweigh this one, so try not to exceed 15 to 20 million in net worth.
Mooch
Did you know you can ask people for money in BitLife? For the Mooch ribbon, you’ll need to stay unemployed and ask for money around 10 to 20 times throughout your character’s life. You can request money through your Relationship menu.
Don’t worry about actually getting money, though. As long as you start in your character’s childhood and stick to asking parents and siblings a few times, you shouldn’t have much problem obtaining this ribbon. You don’t need to spam the request; around 10 times usually does the trick, but you may need to do up to 20 just to be safe.
Movie Buff
The Movie Buff ribbon only has one requirement: watch a ton of movies. You can do this by heading into Activities, Movie Theater, and choosing either a comedy or a documentary. Watch one a year for every year your character is alive to get the ribbon.
If you’re a Bitizen, you can accomplish this easily. However, for non-Bitizens, this will force you to watch an ad. Ads can be time-consuming if your character lives a long life. Whether it’s worth it is entirely up to you.
Rich

The Rich ribbon is the same as Loaded but with a lower requirement. Rather than having $20 million in net worth, you only need $1,000,000. Exceeding $20 million will result in Loaded instead, so be sure to check your assets menu periodically to ensure you’re not becoming too wealthy.
Rowdy
Fortunately, we have another easy ribbon up next. The Rowdy ribbon is all about being a party animal by going to clubs, drinking, and consuming any drugs your BitLife character encounters. You can do this by heading into Activities, Nightlife, and picking any club you wish. Do this a few times a year until your playthrough ends to obtain the ribbon.
Scandalous
You can think of Scandalous as a step up from Rowdy. To obtain this one, get into altercations and physical fights as often as possible before landing in jail once or twice. Alternatively, you can commit one serious crime and age up throughout your jail sentence rather than escape to get the ribbon. Escaping opens up other ribbon opportunities, so avoid this if you’re going for this particular one.
Stupid

Much like Lazy, your objective for the Stupid ribbon is to have low smarts stats. You’ll also need to avoid making decisions throughout your character’s life that increase your smarts stats. Ending your playthrough with less than 10 percent is your safest bet.
The easiest way to earn this ribbon is to start with low smart stats, do nothing to improve them, and drop out of school as soon as possible. From there, you just need to age up and pick answers that either don’t affect your smarts or reduce them. Avoid getting a job as well to increase your chances further.
Successful
The Successful ribbon shares some similarities with the Family Guy one. Your goal is to live a relatively average life with a decent-paying job and a small family. If you want to avoid the Family Guy ribbon, start as a female character while going for this. As long as you avoid crime and fame while keeping your net worth modest, you shouldn’t have much trouble with this one.
Tarzan
BitLife’s Tarzan ribbon requires you to have Bitizenship so you can purchase Exotic animals. To access these animals, head into Activities, Pets, and the Exotic Pet Dealer to start buying. The more of these pets you have over your character’s life, the higher your odds of landing this ribbon. Like with most ribbons, you’ll need to avoid accumulating a large net worth or committing crimes to prevent the Loaded, Scandalous, and other related ribbons from appearing instead.
Thief

The Thief ribbon is somewhat similar to the Scandalous ribbon but focuses on theft crimes. More specifically, your BitLife character will need to burgle houses, steal packages off porches, and pickpocket strangers a few times. Doing these around five times each is a safe bet. Although being caught won’t result in any penalties, staying in jail for a long time or escaping several times can lead to other ribbons.
Unlucky

The Unlucky ribbon is completely luck-based. As you create new characters and age up, your goal is to catch a deadly disease from a young age and succumb to it in early adulthood. There isn’t much you can do to influence this, so just keep creating lives until this happens and age up until they pass away to receive the ribbon.
Veteran
For the Veteran ribbon, you’ll need to join the military and valiantly serve throughout most of your character’s life. You’ll also need to succeed at least three deployments. If you obtain other ribbons instead, you may have to prematurely end the run by visiting the Witch Doctor. This one is largely luck-based, but you can influence it by joining early, working hard, and restarting the BitLife app any time you fail the deployment minigame.
Wasteful

Wasteful is by far the easiest ribbon to obtain in BitLife. You can get this one by creating a new life, selecting Activities, and scrolling all the way down to Surrender. Surrendering instantly ends your run, rewarding you with the Wasteful ribbon. This takes priority over all other ribbons, though, so only surrender on characters you’ve put relatively little effort into.
Wicked
The final ribbon in this list, Wicked, is surprisingly simple once you learn its requirements. Similar to Lustful, your goal is to have unprotected nightly encounters with NPCs until you catch an STD. From here, you want to spread the disease around without curing it before ending your playthrough prematurely through the Witch Doctor.
Meeting too many people will reward you with the Lustful ribbon, so try to limit how many you pursue to only those with “craziness down there” to raise your odds of picking up a disease early. You can start seeing more people once you catch one, but you won’t need to get with as many as you do for Lustful.
How to obtain every secret ribbon in BitLife
Alongside BitLife’s regular ribbons, there are also several secret ones the game doesn’t tell you about. They appear as question marks within the ribbon list, with very brief hints guiding you toward your general goal. Here’s a list of every secret ribbon you can obtain at the time of writing:
Bandit (Secret)
The Bandit ribbon has one simple requirement: commit a train robbery. You can do this by heading into Activities, Crime, and Train Robbery. We have a complete guide on how to rob trains in BitLife if you’ve never done this before.
The only thing you need to worry about is ensuring you don’t make more than $50,000,000 throughout your character’s life. You also don’t want to perform any activities like having a high-paying job, gambling, or saving someone’s life, or else you’ll risk getting other ribbons. As long as you have an average playthrough outside of the train robbery, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting this ribbon.
Big Boss (Secret)
The Big Boss ribbon has changed over time after BitLife introduced the Business career pack. Prior to this, the way to get this ribbon was to pursue a business-related job and climb the ranks until you became the CEO of a company. Now, you can automatically become a CEO with the career pack.
However, becoming a CEO this way won’t reward you with the ribbon. Instead, you’ll need to take the following steps to obtain this ribbon:
- Go to university and study Mathematics, Finance, or Information systems.
- Go to Business School.
- Pursue any corporate job (Operation Analyst or Business Analyst)
- Work hard to receive promotions until you reach President.
- Have a net worth of $20,000,000 when your character passes.
- Don’t accept any offers to become CEO of a company if you have the Business pack.
After you become president, companies will start asking you to become a CEO. However, accepting this will often eliminate your chances of getting the ribbon. Instead, continue working as a President and make a ton of money until your playthrough ends to earn the Big Boss ribbon.
Model Bitizen (Secret)
It’s no surprise that a secret ribbon is one of the hardest to obtain. Your overall goal with Model Bitizen is to be a good person with high Karma. Here are some tips for achieving this:
- Compliment people throughout your character’s life.
- Have children and spend time with them.
- Don’t do anything bad. Don’t commit any crimes, take drugs, or argue with anyone.
- If someone tries to argue with you, apologize or agree to disagree.
- Don’t make a lot of money.
Despite its name, you’re not required to have Bitizenship to obtain this ribbon. However, having it makes some of these interactions easier, so take advantage of these perks if you have it. Otherwise, it may be slightly harder to spend time with family or avoid negative situations, but it’s still possible.
Overall, you want to avoid doing anything that makes you seem like a bad person. Treat everyone kindly, avoid becoming overly wealthy or famous, and call the police when needed. Even with these tips in mind, this one can take a few tries to obtain, especially if RNG bites back using random encounters.
Teammate (Secret)
The final secret ribbon, Teammate, requires you to work at Candywriter. No, not in real life. Instead, you’ll need to take the following steps to earn this one:
- Be born in Tucson or Miami in the United States.
- Go to university and study computer science.
- Apply to become an App Designer or App Tester for BitLife.
- Keep this job throughout your character’s life without rising the ranks and becoming famous.
The part that makes this job difficult is the possibility of becoming famous. This will reward you with the Famous ribbon instead, so you want to work just hard enough not to get fired but not excel in any way so you can avoid as many promotions as possible. One or two are fine, but you don’t want to push the limit. Your best bet is to start as an App Tester to lower your odds of reaching a high rank in the company.
