German Crosses are one of the hardest techniques to emulate in EA FC 24, and mastering them requires a lot of practice.

This particular type of cross has always been prevalent in the community due to its effectiveness. It’s tough to defend this cross if executed at the proper moment. While the controls are relatively simple, you’ll have to pay attention to multiple areas at the same time. If one part gets messed up, the entire process will fail, and worse, you’ll end up losing the ball to your opponent.

What is a German Cross in EA FC 24?

There are several types of crosses within the game; some are basic, while the rest are more complex. Usually, wingbacks make crosses to attackers. However, the German Cross technique involves the wingback making a deep cross to central midfielders or center-backs in the offensive area.

If you can perform the process correctly, the CM/CB will receive the cross beyond the opposition’s defense line, with only the keeper to beat.

How to perform a German Cross in EA FC 24?

For starters, make sure to use a wider formation, as width is essential; the cross becomes more viable when it travels a certain distance.

  • Trigger your CM/CB to make a run forward using the L1/LB button. If manually triggering runs is a problem, play a 1-2 with the wingback while keeping the L1/LB button pressed. Make sure that the wingback isn’t marked tightly by an opponent player and is present in the offensive half.
  • Put at least 3 bars of power to the cross. Make sure you’re pointing diagonally toward the center of the box. Perform the cross at the exact moment when the triggered CM/CB is running inside the box and is just about to go past the opposition’s main defensive line.
  • You can either receive the ball or go for a first-time finish with a header.

Naturally, using wing backs with whipped pass+ will make the cross more accurate; similarly, use a CM/CB who has playstyles like Aerial+ and Power Header+ to increase the chances of success.

In terms of difficulty of controls, the German Cross is easier to perform in EA FC 24 compared to advanced techniques like Power Shots. However, you’ll need a lot of time to master this cross to score consistently. Do note that experienced opponents will manually mark your CM/CB, and losing the ball could make you defensively vulnerable.
