To save the island from the massive bug swarm that’s overrun it in Fortnite, you need to learn more about how it happened. One of the key quests in this process is discovering the swarm’s access point to the island.

This is one of the tougher missions you’ll come across since the access point you need to find is quite small and not at an easy location. It’s an essential one to get done, though, so here’s how to discover the swarm’s access point to the island in Fortnite.

Where is the swarm’s access point to the island in Fortnite?

The swarm’s access point you need to find for the Welcome to the Infestation quest series is a swirling purple portal situated on a small mountain north of Demon’s Domain, west of Utopia City, and east of Foxy Floodgate. It’s slightly southeast of the center of the island.

Since this portal isn’t located at any major POI and instead is situated at a fairly random spot out in nature, it’s tough to find. If you’re having trouble getting to the right spot, focus on looking for the U-shaped bend along the train tracks right below it.

There’s also a small brown house right up against the hill the portal is on, so using these two landmarks together, you should have an easier time finding it. Once you’re within range of the access point, it will be marked by a white diamond icon. Follow the icon up the hill to reach the right spot for this quest.

To discover the swarm’s access point to the island, you need to find the purple portal and interact with it. Once you’re at the right spot, approach the access point and press the button that appears when you’re next to it.

Some missions have a few extra steps that make them more complex to get done, but for this one, all you need to do is interact with the portal once to finish it. Finding the right spot is the only tough part of this quest.

As soon as you interact with the access point, it will change from purple to red, and this quest will be complete. We’ll likely have to complete additional missions related to the access point in the future, but for now, you’re done with it.

With this quest now complete, you can move on to tackling other key missions around the island. Next, you might find and open OXR Bunkers, grab some Exotic weapons, collect items from Hive Stashes, and claim Capture Points.
