How to destroy fuel silos in Helldivers 2

Destroying enemy outposts is just part of the job in Helldivers 2. Most of these types of missions are straightforward, but there’s one that has been stumping some players.

How to destroy fuel silos in Helldivers 2

To destroy fuel silos in Helldivers 2, you have to call in a mission-specific Stratagem that will come up once you’re inside the objective area. It’ll be a yellow-colored Stratagem called Hellbomb.

Upon calling it in, throw this down like you would with a support weapon or a Resupply pod. A Hellbomb will come down and you will need to interact with it like you would with a terminal.

Enter the directional sequence on the screen and prepare to run. You have started the countdown timer for this devastating explosive to level the entire objective to the ground. If you are too close to the bomb when it explodes, you’re risking death.

Fuel silo missions are more prevalent when fighting Automatons, but they have started appearing as objectives on Terminid planets too. They’re both the same but are slightly different.

On Terminid planets, this objective will already have the Hellbomb planted in the middle of the silo. You simply have to deal any form of damage to it. It’s highly recommended to throw a grenade at it from afar or use a gun that can hit it from a good distance. 

Hellbombs have a huge blast radius, so you want to get as far away from it as possible once the fuse starts.

Destroy Fuel Silos objective not working in Helldivers 2

If you have called in different airstrikes and explosives to destroy all the structures, that isn’t the proper way to clear this objective. It’s required to call in the Hellbomb that the game gives you. 

This works similarly to when you have to call in mission-specific stratagems like the Geological Survey one. The game doesn’t outright tell you how to complete these objectives, but since we’re calling in Stratagems often, the new addition should be easy to spot.
