How to complete Spark Joy in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Embrace happiness to get this one done.

Tackling Dreamlight duties is a great way to stock up on important currencies and unlock hidden prizes in Disney Dreamlight Valley. These missions are sometimes tricky to work on, though, as many of them only have vague titles like Spark Joy.

While real quests give you most of the essential details you need, Dreamlight duties are designed to be a bit trickier and challenge your knowledge of the valley. You might need some help tackling them because of this, so here’s how to complete Spark Joy in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

To finish the special Spark Joy duty, you need to hang out with Joy for 120 minutes. A full two hours must be spent in a hangout session with this character, although you can break it up over several smaller ones if desired. The only requirement is that you eventually reach the required time so you can claim your prize.

The toughest part of this quest is that you need to unlock Joy if you haven’t already. She’s one of the tougher villagers to recruit, since there’s quite a lot to get done before she’ll be willing to move in. To get her in the valley, you need to:

Hanging out with Joy is crucial for progressing this task, but how you choose to spend the two hours with her is entirely up to you. You can have her at your side while you work on quests, tackle Retro Roadtrip Star Path duties, or work on gathering materials around the valley.

Another good use of your time is whatever role you assigned to Joy. She’s a mining specialist for me, so I spent part of the required time working on finding Gems, then used the rest of the time to tackle quests and Star Path missions.

Hangout quests can sometimes be a bit buggy, so if you’re hanging out with Joy but it doesn’t look like the time is going up, you may need to quit hanging out with her and start a new session. This usually fixes all issues with hangouts I’ve run into, although you may have to repeat this process a few times throughout the required timeframe to fully complete it.

Spark Joy duty reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Completing the Spark Joy duty gets you the Hockey Stick as a reward. It’s an exclusive item you can’t unlock through any other means, so it’s a pretty solid prize for your efforts. It can be equipped in the Wardrobe menu under the Accessories page.

This item is meant to pair with the Fog Horns Hockey Uniform full-body outfit you can earn by completing the Embrace the Blues duty, so you’ll need to get this one done, too, if you want the full look. For even more Inside Out-themed prizes, you also might want to work on the Get Nostalgic! task.
