How to complete Riven’s Wishes 5 in Destiny 2

This week the voice is up to you.

With this Tuesday reset, Riven’s Wishes 5 enters Destiny 2‘s Season 23. To round out February, players can choose how they conquer this quest. That said, one path option seems more straightforward than the other.

Riven’s Wishes is a series of quests that offer a relatively easy way for players to earn some rewards while Season of the Wish continues past its planned end. Each Riven’s Wishes quest nets Guardians a Wish Token, which can be exchanged for Lightfall exotics, weapons from the Last Wish Raid, the best weapon shader, and other prizes. One Riven’s Wishes quest has appeared alongside each weekly reset since the end of January, with six to appear in total.

Week 1 made players take part in public events, Week 2 asked for elusive Ascendant chests, Week 3 instructed Guardians delve into Lost Sectors, and Week 4 demanded more time spent in The Blind Well. Week 5 asks players to decide how to spend their time.

Players get a choice in how they want to handle the fifth quest in the Riven’s Wishes line. Two objectives are presented, and once either is met, players can return to Mara and claim their reward. However, there’s a little information worth knowing before Guardians decide which goal to pursue.

One way to complete Riven’s Wishes 5 is to eliminate Taken bosses or minibosses in the Rheasilvia region of the Dreaming City. The other option is for players to defeat a single Taken boss from the same region. Though players might initially assume the latter option is the most direct and, thus, the quickest route to completion, there’s more than meets the eye.

Pauurc, the Farseer’s Heir doesn’t outwardly patrol Rheasilvia. He can only be summoned via particular actions. Namely, Guardians must locate and defeat a Farseer Saboteur, take the orb it drops, and dunk it in the right place. If lucky players catch the Saboteur between his 45-minute respawn and swift defeat by overpowered Guardians, they’ll want to do everything possible to ensure the orb reaches its destination safely. If the orb is lost, another won’t appear. Instead, it’s 45 minutes before another Saboteur emerges.

Thankfully, it won’t be fruitless even if players want to spend a little time chasing Pauurc. Rheasilvia is dense with Taken bosses and minibosses, meaning Guardians will likely be chipping away at that other objective.

While boss and miniboss might conjure up the image of the foes faced at the end of a Strike or throughout Raids, the term is a bit more fluid. Enemies with yellow health bars are bosses or minibosses, with bosses typically having the distinction of being uniquely named. With that knowledge in tow, it won’t be long before players realize there are both minibosses and full-on bosses all over Rheasilvia.

At several locales within the region, fighting between the Scorn and Taken periodically breaks out. And more powerful forces will eventually appear if Guardians hurl themselves into these bouts and start defeating enemies. A great place to do this for Riven’s Wishes 5 is in front of the entrance to Harbinger’s Seclude. There, every few minutes, Taken forces will begin to spawn. If players engage the minor and major enemies, it won’t be long before waves of bosses and minibosses start appearing.

Each miniboss grants 3% toward objective completion, while bosses provide 7%. Due to the sheer number of enemies, it shouldn’t take players more than two or three of these Taken assaults to complete Riven’s Wishes 5. With the mission complete, all that’s left is a quick trip to Mara for that fifth Wish Token.
