Food is an all-important piece of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It gives you health back, along with special effects. And for the foodies of the Gourmets Gone Missing side adventure, it is both the solution and cause for all their troubles.

This side adventure is part of the Lucky Clover Gazette quest line in Tears of the Kingdom. As part of this series of adventures, Link and his reporter pal Penn travel to stables across Hyrule, solving local problems while searching for leads on Princess Zelda.

How to start Gourmets Gone Missing in TOTK

Start this particular Penn adventure off by heading to the Riverside Stable, near the bridges that lead from Hyrule Field into West Necluda. Penn will be hanging out by a tree, thinking about leads.

This stable has a reputation for food, and a local gourmand is waiting for his friends to show up. Apparently, they’ve got a recipe of Princess Zelda’s, and the foodies want to celebrate. But as you’ll learn from talking to the guy, his friends haven’t shown up.

He’ll point out a local bridge and let you know they might have been traveling with tents, which is your big clue towards finding them.

Cross the Owlan Bridge and keep near the road, and you’ll eventually see some tents set up. Here’s where they were on the map, when we played this section:

How to make the meat and rice bowl for Gourmets Gone Missing

Once you’ve arrived, you’ll see the gourmets in disarray. After speaking with them, you’ll sense that they tried making Zelda’s recipe and something went wrong. Check the papers by the cooking pot and you’ll get the recipe: raw meat, Hylian rice, and rock salt.

Getting the three ingredients might require some travel, if you don’t have them on you. Hylian rice can be found from grass, but is generally easier to just buy as it’s usually cheap. If Beedle is at the Riverside Stable, he sells some; otherwise, Hateno Village is a great source for Hylian rice.

Rock salt is usually found from mining rocks, so head to your favorite mining locale and hit them with a stone hammer. Get some extra, as rock salt is a great item to bump up the recovery of any dish.

Raw meat is the easiest acquire, and you won’t need to leave the woods to do it. I found both a boar and goat nearby this quest, which gave me plenty of raw meat to work with.

Cook the three ingredients together back at the camping spot, and serve it to Agus, the leader of the band—he’s leaned up against the tree. He’ll come back to life and wake the other three for a taste. The gourmets will thank you and confess they experimented with the recipe, adding monster parts to see if it would taste good. Had they asked Link, they might have learned about some “dubious food” most Breath of the Wild players cooked up at one point or another.

Penn will soar in and congratulate you for the food blog content. He’ll hand over some rupees, as well as any rewards you may have accrued thus far, depending on how many Lucky Clover Gazette quests you’ve completed. Feel free to cook up your own meat and rice bowl with the ingredients the gourmets gave you, and head back to Traysi for your next assignment.
