How to complete Embrace the Blues in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The Dreamlight page has many unique tasks you can complete to earn exclusive prizes in Disney Dreamlight Valley. While most of them are pretty straightforward, others are disguised with vague hints, as is the case with Embrace the Blues.

Since you’re only given the title of this mission to work with, it’s a pretty tough one to figure out. It’s likely not enough information for you to figure out what needs to be done, so if you need some help, here’s how to complete Embrace the Blues in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Embrace the Blues duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the Embrace the Blues task, you need to hang out with Sadness from Inside Out for 120 minutes. That’s two full hours you have to spend with her at your side to get this one mission done. Find Sadness around the valley and select the “Let’s hang out!” option to get this task going.

If you haven’t unlocked Sadness as a villager just yet, you’ll need to get to work recruiting her. She’s a decently tricky character to unlock, as there are quite a few prerequisites that must be done before she’ll move in, including:

• Unlocking the Inside Out Realm.
• Completing the Emotional Rescue quest.
• Completing the Out of the Blue quest.
• Completing the Dream On! quest.
• Unlocking Joy.
• Completing the Get Up and Glow quest.

What you do with the two hours this duty requires is entirely up to you. This means you can tackle key quests around the valley, work on activities like mining or gardening, or just stand around and wait. As long as you’ve initiated an official hangout session with Sadness, you’re good to go.

A good use of this required time is tackling whatever special role you assigned to Sadness. This is a great way to pass the time, raise your friendship with her, and accumulate lots of important resources. She’s a gardening specialist for me, so we farmed Pumpkins to sell for a large chunk of this time.

You can also use this time to work on her friendship quests or Joy’s friendship quests. They have lots of tricky tasks you can get done to boost your friendship and earn rewards, like Create a Bear, The Fortress of Saditude, Dream a Little Dream, Storm’s A-Brewin’!, and Capture the Sun.

Embrace the Blues duty reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Completing the Embrace the Blues duty gets you the Fog Horns Hockey Uniform full-body outfit. This is Riley’s hockey team outfit in the Inside Out movies, and it’s unlike anything else we have to wear, so it’s a pretty stellar prize worth claiming.
