Dragon’s Dogma 2 A Beggar’s Tale guide

When A Beggar’s Tale quest triggers in Dragon’s Dogma 2, the task “Keep an eye on the beggar” will be assigned. The only problem is that Albert won’t shut his mouth, repeating the same story over and over again. Regardless, you’ll need to watch him until he finally moves (generally when it hits the late afternoon). But, if you get tired of waiting or lose track of him, use the map images below to locate him during specific timeframes.

Follow Albert, and he should lead you to Walter’s Tavern during the late afternoon. This requires some more waiting until it turns to night, resulting in the same process of following him.

Eventually, Albert will enter a room between the Common Quarter and Slums (marked with the arrow symbol), locking himself inside.

To see a better look of the door, it will be stationed at a corner of the Slums:

Since it’s locked, wait until Albert opens the door and pick up the Beggar’s Garb inside (pass the time and check back here if need be). Waypoints of the two women in Albert’s life, Hilda and Celina, will appear. You’ll need to decide who you want to give the Beggar’s Garb to in order to rat out Albert’s unconventional lifestyle. For some insight, read below to see the outcomes, but be warned of the mission spoilers ahead.

What happens if you give the Beggar’s Garb to Hilda in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

While investigating Albert’s adventures, you’ll discover he leads a dual lifestyle as a nobleman and a beggar. He is also a no-good two-timer with his wives: one in the Slums and the other in Baldwin Estate. The Beggar’s Garb finally puts this double life to rest, and each wife develops a plan for approaching it.

Hilda uses the garb to her advantage, and Albert surprisingly changes his ways by working in a steady job. She will then offer three Onyx and 900 XP for the quest. Honestly, this outcome is likely more positive than the alternative, but if you don’t mind a little chaos, don’t be afraid to go with Celina.

What happens if you give the Beggar’s Garb to Celina in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

After you give Celina the Beggar’s Garb, she won’t take the evidence too lightly and is saddened to hear that Albert is a nobleman. Like Hilda, she will conjure a plan on what to do with her cheating, lying husband. I thought it would go just as smoothly as Hilda’s outcome, but boy, was I wrong.

Once a few days pass, a guard will explain that Celina murdered Albert and then took her life shortly after. It’s a pretty bleak result, but it does reward 3,000 G and a Noonbloom. Whatever decision you make in Dragon’s Dogma 2 A Beggar’s Tale doesn’t seem to impact the story majorly, so don’t worry too much about making a “wrong” choice.
