How to take down the Bosslug in Sea of Stars

The Bosslug in Sea of Stars seems challenging, but with a few tips, it’s not so bad!

During its first phase, it will begin to rain down rocks from above. Make sure you can read when the rock is about to hit the main protagonists and time your button press perfectly (spacebar on PC). If you fail, you’ll take a massive 12-15 HP hit. Additionally, you’ll have to time your presses well for the poisonous blobs. If they land, that’s six more HP gone!

Take a look at the timer above the creature’s head: this denotes when an attack will fly out, so make sure you’re ready to heal. You’ve been given a bunch of Tomato Clubs that heal your heroes for 20HP, which are extremely important in this early fight (try to have at least 20HP constantly). If you run out of Tomato Clubs, use Healing Light from Zale, which gives back approximately 10-15 HP.

While attacking, make sure your time your button presses: they actually matter during the Bosslug fight. You’ll be able to get an additional hit with each strike, and your combo meter will raise quicker. Don’t be afraid to use your skills as well. Fireball can dish out up to 44 damage if you time it perfectly. Moonerang also performs well if you manage to parry the boomerang-like move over and over again in quick succession.

How to deal with the second phase

When the Bosslug in Sea of Stars begins to spit out its mini bug bombs, it’s time to get serious. Use Moonerang to wipe out multiple of these enemies in one swoop. Also, keep an eye on the combo above the Bosslug’s head. If you manage to perform it before the timer runs out, you can cancel it summoning the mini bug bombs. The poisonous blobs from its mouth now remove around 10HP from you so watch out.

The Solstice Strike move from your combo list can also help you. If landed properly, it will restore a vital 3MP to both party members. You can then use that for Moonerang and Healing Light. Continue parrying moves and hitting the Bosslug hard with skills until it’s eliminated.
