How to be ‘en garde’ while you catch fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Grab your sword(fish)

Some of the more puzzling duties in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Lovely Monsters Star Path are the fishing duties, and none of them is more confusing, perhaps, than one which asks you to be ‘en garde’.

Rest assured though, it’s very straightforward once you’ve deciphered the riddle, but that doesn’t make it easy to achieve, thanks to the rarity of the fish you need to catch.

In order to complete this duty, you’ll need to catch five Swordfish. There are a few specific things that you need to bear in mind while attempting to catch Swordfish, including the weather and color of your fishing spots. On the plus side, the time of day doesn’t affect the likelihood of catching Swordfish, so you can tackle this duty at any point of the day.

Swordfish can be caught on Dazzle Beach in orange fishing spots. However, there’s no point attempting to catch Swordfish during a rainstorm, because when it rains, these orange spots will yield Fugu instead.

Orange fishing spots are rare, so you might have to fish all of the other spots in order to force one to spawn. You’ll usually only have one orange fishing spot open on the beach at a time, so you’re going to be catching a lot of fish to get this one done.

If you’re having trouble, head away from Dazzle Beach for a little while – perhaps go and complete some other duties on your list – and then return.
