There are lots of rare but powerful items you can find around the Fortnite island. Sometimes, you’ll encounter specific missions that task you with tracking them down, as is the case with the acquire Power Ups quest.
This task doesn’t give you any information about what Power Ups are or where they can be found, and since they’re incredibly rare, it’s a pretty difficult one to work through on your own. If you’re struggling to get it done, here’s how to acquire Power Ups in Fortnite.

What is a Power Up in Fortnite?
A Power Up is a very rare, special item that grants you powerful buffs you can’t get through any other means in Fortnite. You won’t find them through any regular looting methods, as these uncommon items are exclusive to a couple of key tasks you must tackle.
How to get Power Ups in Fortnite
There are two ways you can go about securing a Power Up in Fortnite:
- By calling in a Llama Supply Drop. Select the Llama Supply Drop option from the Gizmo wheel to call a special balloon down from the sky. When it lands, open the box attached to it. Inside, you’ll find an array of random loot items. This pack of loot has a high chance of including a Power Up for you, although it’s not guaranteed with every drop, so you may have to call one a few times before you encounter one. If you don’t have any Llama Supply Drop Gizmos, you can enter an Admin Panel Lobby Hack to obtain some.
- By defeating a boss. Defeating one of the bosses wandering around the island has a chance to grant you a Power Up as part of your prize pool, specifically the 1-Up Token. This is also random, though, so whether or not you obtain one from this method comes down to luck and random chance. Bosses typically spawn sometime shortly after the first storm circle closes, but they can also sometimes appear right from the start of the round, so keep an eye on your map for the white and red skull icon to find them once they do.
All Power Ups and what they do in Fortnite
As of the time of writing, we’ve found two Power Ups you can get. There may be more, and additional ones will likely be introduced as the season progresses, so as we encounter any others, we’ll add them here. For now, though, here are all Power Ups and what they do.
- 1-Up Token – Respawn with your full inventory still intact upon being eliminated. This item essentially works the same as Kenny’s Respawn Token, if you’re familiar with this item from the South Park-themed collaboration.
- God Mode Llama – Harness the power of the llama to become an unstoppable wrecking ball. It allows you to run really fast for a short period of time, wrecking everything in your path along the way.
Acquire Power Ups in Fortnite
To complete the acquire Power Ups quest, you need to obtain a total of eight Power Ups. This is an incredibly difficult mission, as these items are very rare spawns, so consider focusing your time elsewhere and slowly working on this one over time in the background as the season progresses, since luck and random chance determine how easy it is to complete.
If you’re seeking some other tasks to focus on alongside this one, there are plenty to choose from. Some good ones to consider are finding all Chapter Seven, season four Sprites, activating Overrides at Consoles, and visiting all NPC locations.
