Hopefully Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has a better story than the first

But it doesn’t need it

Like everyone else, I was disappointed with the narrative of Mirror’s Edge, but it absolutely didn’t break the game for me. I had fun treating it like a puzzle game, and saw the campaign as a massive tutorial for the real meat, the time trials mode. The DLC, in fact, was the best part of the game for me.

But still, it would be nice if Catalyst had a good story to enhance the package overall, and this new developer video gives us some hope — though it still looks by-the-numbers, and a few characters look cringe-worthy (“Don’t get lost!”).

I also cringed at the developer’s comments that Faith has an “edgy” look.
