Hogwarts Legacy Day One Patch Notes: All Changes and Fixes

Everything changes (or doesnā€™t)

Hogwarts Legacy is out around the world, after Digital Deluxe Edition owners enjoyed a few days of early access. With the full release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, there is a day one patch that also arrived. It brought with it a few changes and improvements.

Is there a Hogwarts Legacy day one patch?

Yes, there is a Hogwarts Legacy day one patch, at least on PC. As of writing, no such update has been released for console players yet. It is possible that this day one patch is mainly there to fix some specific problems for Steam users.

Alternatively, there is a chance that the day one patch could also arrive for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners at a later time. The reason for the possible delay could be due to the certification process where the console manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft, have to approve each patch.

Hogwarts Legacy day one patch notes, explained

Whether you are on PC or console, hereā€™s what you need to know about the PCĀ Hogwarts Legacy day one patch update. Oddly enough, no patch notes were released for the update, including on the official website for the open-world game.

That said, there are known issues for the supremely dedicated Hogwarts Legacy, including the following via Prima:

  • Games crashing after receiving the seizure warning
  • Playersā€™ characters collapsing through the map
  • General frame rate dips
  • Settings that arenā€™t available and should be
  • Pop-in issues for NPCs and other models in the environment
  • A bug involving the Professor Fig main character
  • Players experiencing crashes after accepting the terms of service upon booting up the game for the first time

These are prominent problems that users have that might have been fixed in the update. For Steam users like myself, the day one patch is already out. It is roughly under 300MB in size, making it for a rather small update compared to the estimated 70GB for the gameā€™s download.

It remains to be seen if this day one update will also come to PS5 and Xbox, or if it only deals with issues on Steam. This is far from the only update for Steam, either, as there was another smaller update that happened earlier in the week during the early access period.

Be sure to check back in the future for further details about the day one patch, including official patch notes. If and when we have them, of course.
