Here’s five new mobile games you should check out

New Prince of Persia, Bloodmasque, Game of War: Fire Age, and more

Today a handful of interesting looking mobile games were released and instead of doing a bunch of posts, I figured I’d just round them all up. Well, at least the most interesting looking ones that were in our tips box today.

I’ve been wanting to do more mobile coverage for the site in general, so this is as good as an excuse as any! Would you like to see more mobile coverage like this? Rounding up the best/most interesting titles on a semi-regular basis? We’ll still give certain games special attention like we’ve always have, but sometimes it’s easier to digest an onslaught of new releases like this.

Game of War: Fire Age – developed by Machine Zone

It’s a massively multiplayer strategy game for iOS devices that sees players building and growing empires. There’s real-time battles, the ability to craft weapons, and forge alliances. There’s a single game universe here so everybody is playing for the one powerful crown.

There’s also an in-game chat translation system that lets you play with anyone in the world without much hassle. 32 languages are supported so far, and the translation software is able to learn stuff like Internet slang. Plus, you’ll be rewarded with in-game resources such as silver, food, ore, and loyalty points for correcting misspelled words and slang.

Game of War: Fire Age is available now for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch for free.

Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame – developed by Ubisoft

It’s a new Prince of Persia game! But you know, for mobile. The Shadow and the Flame is actually based on the original Prince of Persia II game released over 20 years ago, and it’s also set after the events of Prince of Persia Classic.

Question is, how’s a platfomer perform on a touch device? Not too bad, but we did encounter some annoyances when we previewed the game earlier this year.

Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame is available for $2.99 on the App Store (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), Google Play store, and Amazon.

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol – developed by 2K Games

This one has been out for a little while now, but there was a brand new update this week that’s added over 60 new missions spanning four nations. So that’s 50% more content added to the game, 2K tells us.

Said new missions will see you flying bombers and recon planes, taking on a squadron of fighters by yourself, and shooting down heavily protected key targets. The update also added some enhancements to the playability.

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol is available for free on iPad and iPhone.

Bloodmasque – developed by Square Enix

Bloodmasque is an Unreal powered action game where you must fight against vampires that have taken control of a alternate vision of 19th century Paris. If that’s not enough for you, then know you can also put yourself in the game by taking a picture of your face. It’ll then be applied to your main character. Oh boy!

The game will take around 20 hours to complete, with the added bonus of challenge stages unlocked after you’ve beaten the game.

The game looks great, visually at least. But then there’s that horrible voice acting that makes my ears bleed. Kind of hard to get over the uncanny valley of faces too.

Bloodmasque is available for $6.99.

Iron Force – developed by Chillingo

Okay so the only reason I’m remotely interested in this one is that it reminds me a ton of BattleTanks from the Nintendo 64. Hey, play for free against your friends or randoms? Sure why not!

Iron Force is available for free on the iPad and iPhone
