Here’s the theatrical trailer for the sequel to 2006’s Silent Hill movie adaptation, Silent Hill Revelation 3D. You need the “3D” in the title so that you know you’ll be treated to slow-motion shots of things flying near the camera (one such shot is helpfully provided in the video).
I’ll probably go see this, and I expect to be as disaffected as I was last time. I’m not enraged by what I see, but I’m not impressed either. A little girl marching and doing evil magic, Pyramid Head swinging its sword near the camera for the benefit of 3D gimmickry, special effects focused more on being “cool” than on being scary — it’s all fairly bog standard Hollywood horror stuff. Can’t say I’m thrilled.
What do you reckon? Excited? Maddened? Or are you as blasé as I am?
