Here’s a big BlizzConline weekend roundup

The event carried on after the keynote

Recommended Videos

This past weekend, on Friday and Saturday (and confusingly, not Sunday, as is customary for BlizzCon cleanup), Blizzard ran its first “BlizzConline” event: meant to make up for a lack of BlizzCon in late 2020.

Here’s a quick recap.

The keynote

At 5PM ET on Friday, the keynote kicked off. Here’s a full recap of that!

The short of it: Blizzard Arcade was released, WoW is getting Burning Crusade Classic and a new update, Hearthstone unveiled a new horde-themed expansion, Diablo IV will host the Rogue class, and Diablo II Resurrected is a thing.

Diablo II Resurrected

After the keynote, Blizzard dove further into Diablo II Resurrected. You can find the full details here (offline play is in, as is cross-progression).

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 is still happening. You can read all about what was shown here. The gist is that there’s “hundreds” of PVE missions coming (which hopefully aren’t mostly the same slight variant), and some characters are getting aesthetic overhauls.

Diablo IV

This one is getting an interesting PVP system, and the Rogue looks like a ton of fun to play. You can watch the recap above.

World of Warcraft

The new update is coming this year, and will add flying into the mix. Also, the customary new update region is coming, as is a new raid.

World of Warcraft Classic

Burning Crusade Classic will allow players to choose between a separate Vanilla Classic realm or the new BC version. You’ll also be able to boost characters to max level, but with restrictions.

Hearthstone

Various members of the development team speak briefly about new cards in the upcoming expansion, the Year of the Gryphon, Battlegrounds updates, and Classic/Core Set alterations.

Blizzard Arcade Collection

Finally, here’s a look at the surprise-dropped game that hit after the keynote, which includes Blackthorne, Lost Vikings, and Rock N Roll Racing.
