After playing SingStar for twelve hours in the name of charity, I must confess that I’ve gained a new appreciation for singing games. It’s little wonder, then, that I am actually looking forward to Microsoft’s Lips, even if the above commercial seems to suggest that only total pricks play it.
I don’t know what it is about games aimed at the “casual” market, but it seems that their creators feel compelled to portray the intended consumer as a detestable retard. Literally all commercials for these types of games play out exactly the same. It’s surprising that the industry hasn’t just decided to re-use the same advert and change the game logos where appropriate. It’d save money during these bleak economic times.
I must say though, that the implied Lesbian Tension Interlude partway through is a welcome touch.
Despite this commercial doing its best to put me off, I am still planning to pick up Lips and put the thing through its paces for a Destructoid review. Will this game hit all the right notes, or should it be going for a song? Stay tuned for that, and more crap puns, only on Destructoid.
