Part of the new double-DLC expansion pass

New Pokemon were revealed for Pokemon Sword and Shield today, and man we got a ton of very quick tease flashes across the screen.

First up is Kubfu for the Isle of Armor expansion, which evolves into Urshifu: the latter of which has two standard forms and a Gigantamax form. As for the Crown of Tundra expansion, it’ll focus on Calyrex, a new legendary, which will have its own story.

“More than 200 species” will be added to the new areas, and a Galarian Slowpoke is also available soon in the core game by way of a special event live later today. You can evolve it into a Slowbro with an item from the first expansion and Slowking with an item from the second expansion.

In the biggest news of all, a heap of legendary Pokemon, including classics like Mewtwo and Kyogre, can be caught through the fall 2020 Crown of Tundra DLC through new co-op events. More unnamed creatures were also shown at various points during the Direct, which you can catch in the gallery below, along with some textual breakdowns.

As a note, Game Freak did clarify that you can trade these creatures to your existing game even if you don’t own the expansion pass. Some of these “new” Galar additions also seem to be characters that exist in Pokemon Let’s Go, hinting that there will be a way for you to transfer supported Generation 1 Pokemon into your base Sword and Shield copy.
