Helldivers 2 Democratic Detonation Warbond is available now

Enemies of Super Earth are yet to develop a resistance to being exploded.

The eagerly anticipated Premium Democratic Detonation Warbond is now out and about in Helldivers 2, adding a suite of extremely powerful weapons to the Helldivers’ gear roster. All puns aside, the new kit is extremely potent. Provided, of course, that you remember not to fire the explosive guns in close quarters.

Helldivers 2‘s Warbond system is widely considered to be one of the best “battle pass” implementations we’ve yet seen in a live service game, thanks in no small part to it being wholly permanent and unlockable without spending a real-world dime. While the two prior Premium Warbonds, Steeled Veterans and Cutting Edge, aren’t necessarily must-haves, the same might not apply to Democratic Detonation. As it currently stands, the gear included in this new Premium Warbond is extremely potent and flexible. Democratic Detonation follows the same format as the two aforementioned Warbonds, with three pages’ worth of unlocks setting you back exactly 1,000 Super Credits in total.

Helldivers 2’s Democratic Detonation is a bit of a must-have

To be more specific, Democratic Detonation comes with at least two extremely powerful weapons that are sure to leave a mark on the Helldivers 2 meta as players unlock them: the GP-31 grenade pistol secondary and the sniper rifle/grenade launcher hybrid Eruptor. The former might not outpace the incredibly potent machine pistol secondary, but it’s going to give players a way to close up enemy spawners without dedicating a primary or a Stratagem slot to explosive gear. The latter, on the other hand, is what many of us had expected the Anti-Materiel Rifle would be: a way to rapidly deploy super-powered grenades over long distances. All comparisons aside, the Eruptor pushes through most armor types with ease, from the looks of it, and it can easily reduce entire groups of low-tier enemies into basic elements if aimed at the ground.

Aside from these weapons, the Adjudicator automatic marksman rifle is reasonably potent if somewhat unwieldy, and the explosive crossbow – which is a final-page unlock I’ve not yet gotten to – at least sounds interesting on paper. Other goodies include the usual lineup of three snazzy armor sets, the slow-burning Thermite grenade, and a booster that speeds up the extraction timer.

Time will tell whether Democratic Detonation truly does pan out to be a meta-defining Warbond, but so far, it appears to be very, very useful indeed.
