Have a look at this useless tease from Nintendo

Hey everyone! It’s wild speculation time, sponsored by Nintendo.

So, the Big N sent out this vague tease which reads in its entirety, “The legacy began … more than ten years ago.” I don’t know what the hell that’s supposed to mean, but it doesn’t mean that I can’t flail madly about screaming about how awesome it would be for Nintendo to develop another neglected IP back to life.

But it begs a question: What game could they possibly be getting us excited about. A quick scan of games from within a window of roughly ten to seventeen years (any longer than that, I’d expect them to say, “nearly twenty years ago”) yields some possibilities. StarTropics hit the scene around that time, but I don’t believe the series is popular enough to build the sort of anticipation this statement seems to convey.

Some are guessing that this could relate to the already announced arrival of Super Smash Bros. I don’t see that as being too viable either. We’ve already had Brawl and the massive Smash Dojo campaign. Why not just toss it into the Wii-kly update and be done with it?

No, if I had to guess, my money would be on Star Fox. Just a hunch, but it’s a popular enough series to have warranted a priority release on the GameCube (however poor a decision that turned out to be). The timing feels right to me. I suppose Nintendo will drop some other little nugget right about the time I forget that this one existed.
