Harmonix terminates support for Rock Band Network

All good things must come to an end

Harmonix is discontinuing support for the Rock Band Network, the online service that allowed users to upload and sell downloadable tracks for the Rock Band series.

The network has produced more than 2,000 songs since opening in 2010, but has fallen into disrepair since Harmonix closed the official DLC pipeline in April 2013. The developer admits the service is “plagued with technical issues,” but has resolved to focus its resources on other projects.

While the portal will remain open for the immediate future, with previously released content still available for sale, new submissions will no longer be accepted going forward.
