Halfbrick’s Monster Dash coming to iThings soon

If you’ve got an iPod or an iPad or an iPhone and you like monsters and dashing, Halfbrick has got the thing for you. The Australian developer has revealed its next title, Monster Dash, will hit Apple’s App Store on August 19.

Starring your new favorite hero Barry Steakfries (of PSP Mini title Age of Zombies fame), the game looks to mix the fun of Canabalt with guns and monsters. You’ll only have to worry about two “buttons” — jump and shoot. That’s it. Sounds easy? Running into a crowd of mummies at breakneck speeds is no simple task, so be on the look out for power-ups like the electric Mr. Zappy and the machine gun jetpack.

I’ve been playing a lot of Halfbrick’s iPad title, Fruit Ninja HD, and I’m a fan of Age of Zombies‘ simple-yet-fun gameplay. Monster Dash looks right up my alley. What do you guys think?
