Hacking suspect arrested, possibly linked to LulzSec

A 19-year-old Essex resident has been arrested by Scotland Yard under suspicion of hack attacks and possible connection to LulzSec the mysterious group of self-styled lizards that have claimed responsibility for a significant number of attacks against videogame publishers.

The suspect has been named Ryan Cleary and is thought to be a former Anonymous member.

“The arrest follows an investigation into network intrusions and distributed denial of service attacks against a number of international business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group,” said a Scotland Yard spokesman. The arrest was preceded by “pre-planned, intelligence-led operation.”

LulzSec itself is continuing business as usual, uncaring of the arrest and communicating that it’s had no impact. Thus the game continues.
