.hack//G.U. Last Recode will contain a brand new episode four

A New Hope

When originally announced, .hack//G.U. Last Recode was going to be a complete remaster of the trilogy of games from the PS2. Now it looks like this collection will actually contain some brand new content in the form of an episode four, titled “Perhaps a Dream of World-Weaving Snakes.” Taking place roughly a year and a half after episode three, the new story will detail what happened to the cast following the conclusion of the original trilogy.

A scan from Famitsu magazine (courtesy of Siliconera) reads:

For the first time in a year and three months, Haseo logs into The World R:2, and he discovers a frozen Ovan in a cavern located at Qua Holme. He attempts to break the ice to no avail, and learns that he currently doesn’t have the power to melt the ice. Haseo gathers with his old friends and goes on a new adventure in hopes of finding a way to save Ovan.

If you can read Japanese, then you’ll be pleased to know that a premium edition of the game is getting released overseas. It will include the soundtrack for all four games along with a “drama cd,” blu-ray anime, “secret file” booklet and a special box! I don’t care about anything else, just give me the box!

The game will be hitting store shelves on November 1, 2017 for PS4 in Japan with a US on PS4 and PC scheduled for sometime after that in 2017. I guess that means December, at the latest.
