Kapool tag teams are go!
Despite having just announced 11 Mobile Suits in this week’s issue of Famitsu, Namco has no intention of slowing down the reveals for Gundam Versus this week.
A total of 12 more Mobile Suits were confirmed by an update to the game’s Japanese website. The additions this time are:
- Zeong, Pilot: Char Aznable (from Mobile Suit Gundam)
- Messala, Pilot: Paptimus Scirocco (from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam)
- Quebeley Mk-II, Pilot: Ple Two (from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ)
- Re-GZ, Pilot: Kayra Su (from Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack)
- Berga Giros, Pilot: Zabine Chareux (from Mobile Suit Gundam F91)
- Kapool Corrun Nander Custom, Pilot: Corrin Nander (from Turn A Gundam)
- SUMO, Pilot: Poe Aijee (from Turn A Gundam)
- Forbidden Gundam, Pilot: Shani Andras (from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED)
- Duel Gundam with Assault Shroud, Pilot: Yzak Joule (from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED)
- Gundam G-Arcane with Full Dress, Pilot: Aida Surugan (from Gundam Reconguista in G)
- Gundam “Dendrobium Stamen”, Pilot: Kou Uraki (from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory)
- GM Cannon II, Pilot: Chuck Keith (from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory)
The majority of the Mobile Suits in this batch should be no surprise to veterans of the series, with most of this selection having been a part of previous games. The biggest surprise however is that there are now two Kapools on the roster, as in previous games both Kapools would share a single slot and had a tag team mechanic that behaved like many tag team fighters such as Marvel vs. Capcom.
The roster is now up to 94 Mobile Suits before DLC. Given the number of missing big names, such as Gundam Virtue and the Rozen Zulu, along with the reveal of additional non-animated works appearing earlier this week, it’s highly likely the total size of the roster will cross the 100 mark before release.
Gundam Versus releases this Fall for North America and Europe, and July 6 for Japan and Asia on PlayStation 4.
