Gundam solve their problems violently in Battle Operation

Mecha fighting each other. Again. Why do we never see these mechanical behemoths hugging it out or discussing their problems like reasonable adults? I suppose the main problem there would be that most of those things seem to be piloted by emotionally unstable teenagers.
