Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna’s hand glows with an awesome power now that it’s on PSP

If you’ve ever spent a day dragging yourself from arcade to arcade in Japan, you might have seen these gigantic pods that people were placing themselves in and wishing them they were a Gundam pilot.

Well, that’d be Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna for ya. The overly-expensive arcade game is being moved down to a more manageable (and cheaper) size. From my experience, there shouldn’t be much of a change in terms of gameplay — the major change is just shrinking the screen size.

The game is drawing on the possibility of playing with others via ad-hoc wireless, much like Monster Hunter has done with great success. The title is all about teamwork in 4 v 4 matches, which actually turns out to be a lot of fun. Although I must admit, the Japanese players didn’t like it when they found out they were playing with a foreigner. They were even more displeased to find out that I could understand what they were saying about me.

I’m seriously glad to see this coming to a mobile platform. $5 to play a single game, and you have to buy in for $10 and get a character card. So, I’ll be glad to pay $30-$40 for unlimited plays with this game. Of course, this could have been the second coming of Metal Wolf Chaos
