If you’re looking for the most authentic rock experience this fall, you’ll need look no further than Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour. And by “most authentic rock experience” we mean a lot of real world logos and branding. Lots and lots of it.

Activision have announced today that the upcoming World Tour will feature an exhaustive list of popular instrument and equipment brands. Players can purchase gear and score sponsorships from: Ampeg, Audio-Technica, EMG Pickups, Ernie Ball, Evans Drumheads, Guitar Center, Krank Amplification, Mackie, Marshall, Orange County Drum & Percussion, Pork Pie Percussion, Regal Tip, Sabian cymbals, Vox and Zildjian drumsticks.

But it doesn’t stop there! The game will also feature digital re-creations of world-renown rock stages and locations, including Amoeba Music, House of Blues, and San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

“Gamers have come to expect a certain level of realism in videogames and by collaborating with key brands in the industry we’re able to deliver with Guitar Hero World Tour,” said Activision’s Dave Anderson, Sr. Director of Business Development.

I’m already bracing myself for the cries of “sell out” and “brand whoring,” but let’s be honest here — it’s not as if any of this stuff is really out of place in Guitar Hero: World Tour. I personally have no problem with them including well-known brands and locations like this, as long as they’re relevant. Now if I have to play my encore gig at the fictional 7-11/Arby’s/Chick-Fil-A World Bowl, we’re going to have a problem.
