The death of Guitar Hero has been highly exaggerated, apparently. Or there’s just a bunch of downloadable content that’s been authored and is still sitting in Activision’s pipeline…
In any event, that means more music for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock fans, as the “Modern Rock Mega Pack” was released this week. It features nine tracks: “Sorrow” by Bad Religion; “Sic Transit Gloria… Glory Fades” by Brand New; “She’s a Genius” by Jet; “Supermassive Black Hole” by Muse; “Psycho” by Puddle of Mudd; “Little Sister” by Queens of the Stone Age; “Always” by Saliva; “Hands Open” by Snow Patrol; and “Headstrong” by Trapt.
This smorgasbord of tracks ripped straight from your local jock rock station will run you $16.49/1320 MS Points/1650 Wii Points for the full pack. You can buy the songs individually for $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points.
Given the uncertainty of the future of the series, I don’t know how I’d feel about dumping money into new tracks. With Rock Band, there’s been at least some promise that you’ll “have” those tracks for years to come, even from the start of the series. But if you simply must play “Headstrong” by Trapt and you must play it now, I’m not going to judge you.
