Guitar Hero coming to cell phones; hopes not be drowned out by riotous laughter

There are multiple levels of ridiculous in all things from film to games. The announcement of Guitar Hero Mobile invents a whole new level of senselessness — It’s the equivalent of trying to milk a meercat. Why do I play Guitar Hero? Let’s see, to play a guitar in a realistic way, to play with my friends, and to turn it up as loud as I can for proper rocking.

Let me take out my cell phone and have a look here. Definitely can’t emulate a guitar, so that’s a no go. Don’t think my friends are going to want to come over to see my rock out air guitar on my Samsung, so that one is out. Oh, and how could I forget that cell phones have the crappiest sound in history and I’d rather jam out on a Fisher-Price cassette recorder from 1984?

This is some serious brand whoring, and no sir, I do not like it. I’m not a fan of cell phone gaming anyway, as it just seems a poor method of marketing games in a day and age when consumers are enjoying top of the line graphics and sound on modern consoles, but frankly this surpasses that and goes straight to lunacy.

I want to be corrected, really, because I know a lot of developers are working hard to make cell phones an acceptable platform, and I do support developers very strongly. Can someone give me a reason to direct my scorn elsewhere?

UPDATE: Hamza kindly found the trailer for me, should you want to peruse it.
