At one point, I feel like the Guinness World Records meant something, with people vying to grow their nails longer than a record holder. Or shove more ping pong balls in their mouth than the last guy. Or fart the alphabet.
Apparently not anymore, as Batman: Arkham Asylum has been awarded a Guinness World Record for the “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever.” Yeah, we know — there really wasn’t anyone keeping track of this stuff, but you have to hand it to them… the game is pretty damned good.
In fact, it seems the award was handed out based on the game’s Metacritic average which currently stands at 91 percent. With that, our staff more or less agreed, giving it an average score of an 8 out of 10. But to really know what we think of the game, you’ll want to read the review to find out of it’s really the best super hero game ever. (Hint: Probably.)
