Arc System Works has released the next two videos from its Guilty Gear Strive “Starter Guide” series, giving folks a crash course in the anime fighter ahead of this weekend’s closed beta, which goes live today.

The first video looks at the swoony Chipp Zanuff. Chipp is a former American troublemaker who has adopted both a better attitude as well as a love of Japanese culture. Popular among GG players, Chipp’s high-levels of maneuverability and lightning-fast attacks make him a tricky foe to pin down. In the right hands, Chipp is capable of overwhelming his opponent at tremendous speed.

Next up, with have Guilty Gear‘s iconic, screen-filling mecha-monster Potemkin. An elite member of the notorious Zepp Guard, Potemkin’s frightening and dominant appearance belie his contemplative and philosophical mindset. In the thick of the fight, however, Potemkin is all business, using his huge frame and powerful range of throws to pound his opponent into mush.

The Guilty Gear Strive closed beta goes live today. At first, only offline Vs. COM modes will be available. Online beta testing will begin tomorrow, April 17. If you’re yet to receive a beta code, keep an eye of the ArcSys Twitter, as they have been conducting giveaways.

You can check out the starter guides for Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske right here, and May and Axl Low right here. Guilty Gear Strive launches later in 2020 on PS4.
